Alright, so the name of the story is “Kingdom Come”.
A subtle reference to the bible and what happens after judgement day. Has an ominous vibe. Great.
Yeah, it WOULD be subtle if it wasn’t for the fact that the story will make references to the bible every fifth page or so in order to hammer in the symbolism.
Oh, hammered in symbolism is TIGHT!
Okay, so we are in a world where all the superheroes are dicks now, which made Superman upset. So he said “screw you guys, I’m going home” and stayed in his house for ten years. So everything is chaos.
Oh no!
Yeah, it’s bad. But then Wonder Woman decides to make Superman do something about it.
It must be difficult for her to make a man who has been away from society for ten years to get out of his self exile.
No, it’s actually super easy, barely an inconvenience.
Oh, really?
Yeah, she makes him watch TV so he knows what is going on. THAT will make him go out and save the world.
TV rules!
Yeah!
So, wait… If all Wonder Woman had to do was make Superman watch TV in order to make him go out and do something about the situation, why did she wait TEN YEARS before doing so? Seems like lives could have been saved and the conflict would have been solved sooner.
I don’t know!
Fair enough. So what will Superman do about all these superhero pricks?
He will punch them in the face. That will make them behave the way he wants them to.
Abuse of power is one of my preferred methods to get what I want as well. BTW, you got my sandwich?

Great. Anyway, what happens next?
Well, Superman realizes that not ALL people will do as he says just because he punches them.
That’s weird.
So he builds a giant prison and gives those guys a good-old fashion timeout, but that will blow up in his face because of Lex Luthor.
He is in the comic as well? Cool, what does he do?

So then all the superheroes get in a fight after the prison is destroyed by Captain Marvel. Oh, he is in the comic as well.
Great. By the way, I love the name Captain Marvel.
Yeah, let’s never change it. Anyway, the superheroes fight so much that America could get destroyed.
That’s bad!
It IS bad! So the FN drops a bomb on them, and Captain Marvel has to either let the bomb drop, killing the superhumans thus saving the normal guys, OR stop the bomb, saving the superhumans but dooming the regular guys. But he decides to save both super and regular people... By making the bomb blow up.
… What?
Yeah, but he blows it up so not ALL the super guys dies. Just most of them. And then the regular people and superheroes kiss and make up.
But Superman is basically to blame for all this. Everyone is cool with that?
Well, they have to. What should they do about it? After all, he IS Superman.

I think this could have the potential to be one of our greatest graphic novels of all time. And heroes fighting each other in an all-out war is not something you see every day.
Yeah, it would be a problem if comic companies made superhero war comics too often.
