Now that Hugh Jackman is out it's time to start thinking on who can take on the role for the character's eventual appearance in the MCU.

I think it would make sense to find an actor that's actually short yet well built just so it could fit well with the name "Wolverine" just like the in the comics. Logan as you all recall is just 5'3'' but Hugh was over 6'0'', so it's in my opinion that Kevin Hart should be one of the top candidates to play the character.

Amazingly his height is already near perfect as he's 5'4'' and well built thanks to his simple yet effective workout, here's a picture for proof:

While yes his resume is mostly filled with comedy movies and a few stand up shows, i believe that he has the capacity of giving a serious performance as other comedic actors have proven over the years; Will Ferrel in "Stranger than Fiction", Jack Black in "Bernie", Jim Carrey in "The Harry Truman Show" (great movie by the way), and Robin Williams in "Good Will Hunting".

Based on that list I think it would only be fair to give Hart a chance before we write him off.

I actually would pay to see that, he has the build and I don't mind having a black actor play him I just need to see Kevin do a serious role first

It'd only make sense if they also cast Idris Elba as Jean Grey.

Logan is stated to be 5'3" but he always looked like he's between 5'8" and 5'10" and i cannot imagine what a comedian wolverine will look like.

I was against this at first but this actually sounds cool. But comic book fans are terrified of ambitious casting.

What point? There's a difference between risky/ambitious casting and casting that doesn't make any sense. Kevin Hart as Wolverine is about as random as it gets.

@socajunkie: but isn’t this a risky casting, it’s not like it’s whoopi Goldberg as brainiac. Fans lash at everything even something like Ben Affleck as Batman, that made sense but everyone lashed out. Almost all superheroe casting, while risky/weird/and ambitious more or less make sense

It's honestly not that far from that. How is it not risky casting? KH as Wolverine is utterly random and wouldn't make sense unless it was a spoof movie.

@socajunkie: all that’s really missing is for Hart to pull out a serious performance. As of now I fully understand why people maybe on the fence about this but whenever someone comes up with a outside the box casting you guys act like rabid dogs, I mean I don’t get how you can see Kevin Hart as freaking wolverine and not even be a bit curious about how that would go down

Comedy actors can do serious roles but I've yet to see that for Hart, I wouldn't be saying it's stupid if I'd seen him pull out a similar role but he hasn't, he's 100% comedy. Once again there's a difference between 'outside the box casting' and nonsensical casting, objectively speaking this is random, it's not as bad as Whoopie Goldberg as Brainiac but it's not far from that either.

I never said I wouldn't be curious to see how that would go down, in a spoof comedy it makes sense, if it were a serious series of new Wolverine films I'd be curious and still think it's stupid.

How about this, Kevin Hart as Wolverine: explain why this makes sense and come up with something other than short and muscular.

@socajunkie: like I said before all that’s missing for me to be fully on board is to see a serious performance out of him. But I mean Michael Keaton was a comedic actor and he became Batman. And Kevin Hart as Logan is definitely outside the box no matter what way you look at it. I never said it makes complete sense all I’m saying is I have an open mind to this casting, key word open mind

I think we're on different wave lengths, just to be clear I'm not seeing some actor I'm so so about playing Wolverine and thinking 'Eh this is outside the box and I'm not confident but he could pull it off, it's possible, let's see how he does.'

I'm seeing Kevin Hart as Wolverine, the last four words in this sentence don't stop being ridiculous and random. What can I compare this to...Ok if somebody told me they think WB's decision to cast Jonah Hill as Hal Jordan, wait no that's not nearly as stupid as this. If somebody told me they think WB's decision to cast Tracy Morgan as John Constantine was idiotic, I wouldn't say they needed to have an open mind, I'd say that's fair, this isn't a case of having an open mind, I think it's stupid and completely nonsensical, let's go with the Whoopie Goldberg as Brainiac example, that's not an open mind case, that's stupid.

@socajunkie: I’m just saying there is more than one way to look at a weird casting then with anger, like I said before Hart as Kevin is bonkers, but I’m open to it and think that while it’s weird it would be kinda interesting to see. But a common theme of fanboys is to hate ANY type of casting without even thinking about it, not saying you have a positive thought about it but it wouldn’t hurt to be open to it. Most of the real castings are pretty safe yet are met with so much ire. Maybe it’s just me but I don’t get how someone throws a casting like this and people refuse to even wonder for a second. It’s like when they said Will Smith as Superman. Do I want that? Not in particular. But did I write it off? Of course not cause the fresh prince as the man of steel is interesting to me.

I never said Jackman was perfect either.

Also height can be frauded with angles, lifts, etc.

Being a completely different race isn't just "one characteristic".

@jay_z94: All race is, is a social grouping of people based on characteristics. And I’m sure that some of that can be changed with a little movie magic.

Not to mention that Wolverine may not even fall into a “race” category. He’s not even a human.

@lil_remains: Race isn't social, its genetic. Just like you said, multiple characteristics, so not just one.

Wolverine is part of the mutant race, yes, but genetically he is still white.

@jay_z94: Race is not genetic at all. It is social. I’ll ask you this. Are paupans black? If it’s genetic the answer should be clear. But it isn’t because race is not genetic. There are no clear cut genetic barriers that place humans into groups like “races”.

And wolverine can’t have a human “race” if he isn’t even human.

Oh dear, I think it's time to educate yourself. Caucasians, negroids and mongoloids are all different genetic races. So you're saying japanese and chinese eyes are "social constructs"?

And wolverine can’t have a human “race” if he isn’t even human.

Wolverine is White. He is a human with the x-genome.
