Poll Is the MCU inconsistent with showing the full power of their high tiers? (48 votes)

Yes 69%
No 31%

I feel like the DCEU was better in showing the full strength of their top tiers...

Thoughts?

Most of the time...Yes, but I will say AOS handles the High Tiers pretty well...

I think so...Thor, and Captain Marvel were actually shown to be consistent with how powerful they are, same with Hela and Scarlet Witch.

DCEU has a clear level for their high tiers. The Kryptonians durability are easily large building level and max out at city level, with one outlier - the tectonic plate - and one questionable feat - the motherbox.

The MCU durability until IW maxxed at city level, with a couple city block to multi city block level feats from from Hulk and Thor. With power stone, neutron star, and continental level Uru, it’s anyone’s guess now. At this point, Thor in his next film could destroy a moon or get knocked out by a falling boulder without either one surprising me

Not sure I understand the question. If it's asking about the visual portrayal of the MCU high tiers, obviously it's not consistent. The high tiers seem to be pretty consistent with their feats, however. MCU just can't scale.

@stealthcobra117:

616 Thor and Loki have exchanged blows like street-levelers, and so has 616 Thanos and Post-Crisis Darkseid. Connecting blows is more helpful than sending one's opponent flying, and damaging an opponent is a fairer assessment of power than distance shots and force calculation.

@fatalsniper728: In relation to the others? No, the Hulkbuster sent the Hulk flying further than anyone Thanos did, but we know Thanos is above it just by how badly he beat the Hulk. Bodying high tiers in seconds is more impressive than sending them flying with zero damage to show for it

It's very clear how bad their fights are when it comes to high tier.

That's what happens when your universe has more than 80 % street level trash heroes

Gotta make them look cool because they are worthless piece of junk in a actual battle against Thanos Hela and Galactus tier beings oh Dormmamu too

Inconsistent or consistent, they are no match for DCEU.

The visual portrayal can absolutely be weak and that’s what throws some people off. But the feats themselves are generally more powerful and ridiculous than the gritty DCEU. Things like Hulk jumping on frame and just smacking Ultron into the sky like a cartoon.

Inconsistent and the fights are often visually unimpressive for high tiers. Particularly under the Russos. And honestly to me, each writer/director's vision of the character is virtually a different version, all of the scaling with them feels pointless, it's become much like many comics. Scaling Thanos off a tangential calc from a feat from 2012 with Iron Man, Hulk etc. from a different creative team when the Russos barely consider what happens in their own movies just feels disingenuous. A lot of MCU scaling feels illegitimate, a contrivance and fabrication of CV, I don't think it holds any real weight.

Just don't think they're very good to debate with at this point, the creators (specifically the Russos) have much of an idea of what they can and can't do, and if they do it doesn't matter that much once a fight breaks out. Most of what I see on CV is people trying to impress some logic onto what is just nonsense.

MCU is just not as powerful as dceu. what wankers call inconsistency is really just jealousy.

every mcu movie when they wanna show power of a strike or explosion, you clearly see knockback.

its just mcu knock backs pale to dceu knock backs

even mcu bullets dont follow physics

@vidofails:

Ravan and Hercules in mythology would fight like street levelers, but that doesn’t stop them from soloing DC live action.

I don’t understand why we hold CBMs to Snyder standards. Fighting street level doesn’t provide reasonable judgement for character power level in literally any other form of fiction. But then again, for people who mainly deal with live action, and specifically a background in CBM, it makes sense.

Remedial logic

Comics are NOT dceu or mcu films

Notice biased people such as yourself bring nonsensical arguments?

Enough stated

If people are talking about visuals then no. Comics, anime’s, And game cutscenes pretty much all have fight scenes that Barely blow anything up even tho realistically they should be destroying everything.

DCEU and MCU are two different verses. Other CBMs doesn't have to follow something DCEU chooses to follow.

@rajjarsalt:

I suppose they do.

Anytime when a mcu director wants to show the power of strike/kick or explosion you get knock back.or the reverse

Sup no sells atmospheric decompression while spiderman with maximum effort resists it. Iron man even had to fly away to avoid the decompression pull. The same spiderman what was able to restrain thanos arm

Sup no sells the capitol hill explosion and it rocks protestors nearby while iron man is knocked on his ass by a light grenade.

Just from that it shows superman is far stronger than iron man

Your headcanon dont cut it.

Yeah, knockback is nice and all, but it doesn't translate into proper damage scaling.

People need to realise that there are hundreds of comics portraying the likes of Thor and Hulk at different levels ranging from building to higher than planetary level, using that in a desperate attempt to debunk mcu's blatant inconsistencies or the way they portrayed their so called "high tiers" is disingenuous.

Edit: yes, it's that inconsistent and people need to deal with it.

Anyone who says MCU is inconsistent must haven't watched a lot anime or they're just DCEU fanboys who try to lowball MCU. DCEU is only more consistent because they have only 7 films while MCU have more than 20 films, and DCEU Wonder Woman and Aquaman are more inconsistent than any MCU characters.

So far, i haven't seen any series similar to MCU but more consistent. MCU consistency is fine and people need to stop lowballing or hating them by saying they're not consistent, it's ridiculous.

@a8612152: So anyone who thinks the MCU is inconsistent is DCEU or anime fanboys? Just because some series are more inconsistent doesn't make the MCU more consistent.

Very, and there is a huge gap in DCEUs favor when it comes to power levels.

Their high tiers haven't even shown the full strength which kinda drums it home
