Is the game Sonic verse downplayed?

Maybe it's just me, but I've always thought so. I feel like it's cause of game mechanics. Some are applicable, but not all. For example, the 60 second time limit on Super forms isn't, because 1.) It's to not make the game broken and 2.) In the Canon Sonic Advance, he maintained his Super state for a "few days", which is about 3-5 days. Considering how he's gotten more powerful since, that's a good showing. He's insanely durable, frequently surviving falls from at least the atmosphere. I'll admit his lifting strength isn't massive, only around the 10-20 range. But I dunno, discuss below.

Maybe a little? I don't see many battles involving them.

Learned to natively use LS dash

Sonic generations boosting him even further since it changes the canon as classic is able to keep up with modern, on top of learning homing attack and ups his spin dash x1000 being even faster/stronger than early modern sonic

This latest sonic game should boost him even further since it makes egg dragoon a classic sonic boss. Which puts him on werehog/generations strength.

Didn't even mention how modern sonic didn't even need to go SS to beat perfect chaos, and the only way to stop him is to use the chaos emeralds energy to purify him which shows he's most likely absorbed enough chaos energy to put him on early super sonic level.

Sonic fell from space in Advance 2's finale trying to catch Vanilla and he just ended up landing on his feet. Dangerously high falls don't seem to pose much threat to these characters, even Tails survived the first fall in SA1 from what must've been over 20,000 feet with absolutely no injury. I think the interesting thing that puts Sonic above Shadow is this line in SA2 during the FinalHazard boss:

"Hahaha, Sonic! I think I've discovered what the ultimate life form is... it might be you!"

Explains why Sonic seems to have the upper hand in all their subsequent battles.

@mainjp: In Sonic Rivals 2 you can use your special as sonic to boost through shadows chaos control.

I didn't count one as there was no real story mode, and they meet in the story in one of the Casino zone battle maps
