@ghostodoofus: Anybody could pick out a few good stories from any company
Is the 90's the worst era of comics ?
90's era was pretty damn bad. Oversaturation of the same old characters, plus crap wages from Marvel and DC and a overall decease in story and artistic quality.
That, or the stump during the 20's and 30's, which was basically a creative black hole.
And now.....Rob Liefeld.
"the 90s sucked because of Rob Liefeld" this is said a lot and it's completely illogical. Rob Liefeld didn't write or draw a major comic in the 90s except for 5 issues of Captain America, and despite what some believe he never drew a single full issue of Avengers he only wrote for Avengers for 7 issues.
so 90s Liefeld hysterics want us to throw away an entire decade of good and great comics because Rob Liefeld drew six issues of Captain America and wrote seven issues of Avengers? that is idiotic.
but why stop there, if Liefelds presence no matter how slight is so ruinous then we also have to throw the 80s and the 00s under the bus because Liefeld was the artist for lesser titles in those decades too.
80s Liefeld comic
2000s Liefeld comic

This thread was literally bumped minutes ago lol.
Not even close. In fact I'd say it was one of the best.
Wouldn't rule out his X-Force though. But tbh I have seen worse in Marvel
True, but X-Force had some good ideas, and after Liefeld left the book after 12 issues or whatever it became a quality title under Fabian Nicieza & Greg Capullo's stewardship.
tbh Liefeld didn't really bother anyone for most of the 90s, he was over at Image Comics working on his creator owned projects, so the hysteria about Rob is just beyond silly.
the only unquestionably negative thing that he is responsible for is Heroes Reborn, but like I said 5 bad issues of Cap and 7 bad issues of Avengers is not that big of a deal. especially since the backlash from fans at the time prompted Marvel into getting their act together with Heroes Return, which was excellent. so all's well that ends well.

I have read X-Force for the most part and I find him good with some of his earlier ideas as a writer. I think it's more about his anatomical proportions more than how much he did on Marvel when someone criticizes him.

Yeah agree, people should feel free to make fun of his art if they want to obviously, but a few years ago you used to see a lot of silly opinions like "Liefeld ruined all of comics forever" which is just absurd. because Liefeld's art sucks somehow that is the responsibility of all of his contemporaries? thankfully these days you rarely ever hear those kinds of crazy opinions.
Never ever, Hunter Prey was too insane, it marked my childhood.
As the little fker I was, I almost got a nosebleed from just only seeing it when I was 5-6 years old...
You're high if you think the 90s was the worst.
There's plenty of good stuff from the 90's.
