intelligence wise, BP fanboys are saying he is just as smart as Reed?
is T'challa really on Reed's level
People who say BP is close to Reed in intelligence are not "fanboys". They are pretty accurate. BP is very close to Reed in intelligence, but is not his equal.
@wolverine08: umm... idiot
Marvel has said that Reed is the smartest man on earth, equal with doom.....
are you also saying stark, pym are just as close to reed....
yeah BP fanboy alert

Let me list to you the five smartest men in the Marvel U.
1. Mr. Fantastic
2. Doctor Doom
3. Hank Pym
4. Bruce Banner
5. Tony Stark
Stark and Pym are close to Reed, but not equals.
@wolverine08: ok.... i apologies for calling you an idiot, i get tense sometimes
so stark and pym are smarter then t'challa?
is this an official ranking

Yes Stark and Pym are smarter than T'Challa. He is supposed to be the 8th smartest man in the world.
@glabal500: first off calling people name is not smart and make you come off as a petty troll. Second @Wolverine08 probely knows more about comics than you so and he is also right BP is close to his level but not his equal but can understand what he is saying when talking about science.

This.
Doom is the only one on Reed's level but he's stuck in second place.
@veshark: BP fanboy alert
claiming t'challa is jsut as smart as what marvel has been saying the smartest man in the 616 for a long time (Reed)
Wow, immediately label someone who disagrees with you as a fanboy. I've never seen that before.
And for the record, I didn't say he's as smart as Reed, I said he might have the same level of understanding because a) he's a genius himself and b) he has all the experience of all past Black Panthers now. At least try to get facts straight before you start pointing fingers.

Agreed. Close, but not his equal.
I messed up their with BP's intelligence ranking. He's actually the 7th smartest man in the world. Amadeus Cho is 8th.
@wolverine08: hey though my apologies for calling you an "idiot" you probably do know alot more about comics then me, i get tense in these forums for some reason
I messed up their with BP's intelligence ranking. He's actually the 7th smartest man in the world. Amadeus Cho is 8th.
I thought BP was the eighth?

After Panther got his King of Dead enhancements, his intelligence increased, and he took the number seven spot from Cho.
@veshark: that's really interesting....
i always thought t'challa was one up over tony and hank, but it seems like they edge t'challa out a little bit
T'Challa might be a genius and helped Wakanda to become an advanced nation, but at his core, he's a fighter. A warrior, not a scientist.
Both Hank and Tony are thinkers, so it's not hard to see that they're smarter. They also have more science feats to their name, Hank with the Pym Particles and Stark with the armor and various other gadgets.

Correct. If T'Challa really applied himself, he probably could be equals to or superiors to people like Stark and Pym, but he's more focused on being a king and a warrior. Kind of like how Spider-Man has been noted to have the potential to be smart as Mr. Fantastic, but doesn't apply himself.
@wolverine08: possible, but that is still a "theory" to say that he could be superior to hank and tony if he applied himself is possible, but cannot be proven, and at its core is a theory........
@veshark: but t'challa has made some incredible stuff to... but i guess your right when it comes to pure intelligence hank and tony edge t'challa out
hasn't t'challa been able to outsmart tony before though
wasn't the quinjet BP's creation
If you're referring to his fight with Tony, then that's where BP shines. Not intelligence in terms of science or engineering, but intelligence in terms of outsmarting his opponents tactically, in battle. He's a fighter first, remember.
The Quinjet was designed by the Wakanda Design Group, of which BP is a part of, but he can't take full credit.
Again, not saying that BP doesn't have science feats to his name, but he's more of a fighter.
@wolverine08: possible, but that is still a "theory" to say that he could be superior to hank and tony if he applied himself is possible, but cannot be proven, and at its core is a theory........
Well, Black Panther did make a suit that absorbed cosmic energy based off of plans he stole from Doctor Doom. That shows that he has a lot of potential.
@wolverine08: its possible.......
honestly i see pym, stark, t'challa, banner as pretty much equal i was suprised to find out that stark and pym are above t'challa
but i think the 2 kings are obviously reed and doom, i dont think they can be matched by anyone human on marvel earth
i knew hank was the 3rd but seriously, black panther should above stark.
I think Black Panther was close to Stark before Tony got his Extremis upgrades. The Extremis virus amped Tony's intelligence so much that Mr. Fantastic (the smartest man in the Marvel U) was even surprised.
@wolverine08: ah that makes sense, he seemed too highly placed for someone who's solely an engineer and mathematician.
@veshark: overall do tony and hank have better science feats/inventions then t'challa?
I would say so. Tony has too many armors to name (Phoenix-buster, Thorbuster, Bleeding Edge), Hank has discovered Pym Particles, and invented the size-changing formulae, Ultron, and he's the 'Scientist Supreme'.
But BP is not too shabby when he wants to be. Recently, him and Reed together made an anti-matter bomb capable of destroying parallel Earths.
@wolverine08 Oh, has that been confirmed? If so awesome, glad that BP is above Cho.
@veshark: Hank helped with the Phoenix-buster but I hated that part as he didn't get enough credit considering quantum physics and cosmic stuff is his expertise.
Also how is the spidey-verse compared to these? I know they're nowhere near, but how high ranked are Doc Ock, Parker and Osborn? While I'm here Red Skull, Professor X , Doctor Nemesis, Beast and would Kang count? (He's human, just from the future, right?)
@veshark: ok so all in all t'challa is ranked 8th, and is close, but still below reed?
Essentially. Below Reed in terms of feats, but still very intelligent.
As for Thanos, I'm not too sure because I'm not really an expert....but apparently Thanos has spent much of his life learning about the universe, and amassed a great knowledge of it. Some have said his intellect is on the level of Reed or Doom.

Ah my bad, forgot about that.
I'll defer to my betters for the Spidey-Verse since I'm not too sure about those guys, though I do believe Osborn is more of a chemist, and likely not on the same level as say, Tony. Red Skull is intelligent in the sense of being a master-plotter, but he's not really a 'thinker', he tends to leave that stuff to Arnim Zola.
Xavier is a genius, but not quite an inventor. Beast was one of the eight-smartest MU heroes kidnapped by the Intelligentsia, so I assume he's pretty smart too. No idea about Kang or Doctor Nemesis.
@veshark: so t'challa ranked 8th, below reed, doom, banner, stark..... but still probably really close
in fact i think all 8 are probably neck in neck with each other...?
I wouldn't say neck-in-neck, but just close enough. T'Challa perhaps has the capability to understand, and a fairly close intellect too, but at the end of the day, guys like Reed, Doom, and Stark have just accomplished more in terms of showing their intelligence. So I feel it would be unfair to put BP on the same level.
Ok where is this Official Ranking system located at? I always hear about it but I haven't seen it besides on comics mentioning it.
First I think it is a bit confusing when there are so many intelligent people in the Marvel Universe I think there should be some ground rules like
These are the Top 10 Smartest Humans from Earth in the Marvel Universe that way Thanos, Evolutionary, Ultron and the rest don't count.
As far as I know this is how it goes.
I. & II. Reed/Doom
III. Pym
IV. Stark
V. Banner
VI. Beast
VII. T'Challa
VIII. Amadeus Cho
( + )

Is Banner close to Reed too since he's above Stark?
@xanni15: Yes, Banner is pretty close to Reed, but not an equal.Doctor Doom is the very, very close to Reed but is at the end still inferior to Reed. Which is why he's always pissed off at Reed. Lol.

V. Banner
VI. Beast
VII. T'Challa
VIII. Amadeus Cho

As a rule of thumb, I'd be inclined to agree with this.
How does the High Evolutionary match up realistically? I'd be inclined to put him number 3 if he was allowed in.
EDIT: Actually. Wait.
Canonically, Sage is now the smartest person on the planet. Her computer brain is essentially omniscient, it downloaded all the knowledge of the entire multiverse from the Starlight Citadel. Moreover, she's arguably the fastest thinker, able to outpace even the Fury.

THIS. Pym is close just underrated sometimes.
@veshark: true, but what about banner? why is banner above t'challa?
I've read that Osborn considers Banner to be the fourth smartest man. Reed has commented that Banner is smarter than Tony or Hank. But I guess since he Hulks out more, his intelligence isn't really put on display. That being said he is the MU's leading mind in gamma radiation, and a nuclear physicist. Waid's present run especially has really put Banner's mind on display. We have teleporters, Bannertech battle armor, force-fields, a lot more tech than BP has ever been shown building (to my knowledge).
@wolverine08: Ok Wolvie8 (Do you mind if I call you Wolvie 8?), I would like to know the feats Banner has to be above Stark. I honestly believe Stark is smarter than Banner but I love to learn.
EDIT:
@thefirstlantern
I would also appreciate if you could share some feats Banner has that prove he is smarter than Stark.
(+)
@veshark: Yeah should have picked Zola, my bad.
The Marvel Intelligence Ranking System is really biased towards heroes though.
For example, Beast shouldn't technically be so far up as in an alternate universe (I know it's alternate, but still it "alternate" as in similar except for a few changes) Beast was taught/apprenticed by Mr Sinister. This alternate reality beast had roughly the same intelligence level as normal beast so it makes you think... I think the name of the reality was Age of Apocalypse? (X-fan would know better)
Also who'd have the most broad knowledge out of the geniuses?
