Curious to know if it is.
Is Spacebattles reliable?
Spacebattles is just like comicvine. So, yes and no? It depends on the person. Although they definitely handled their forums and posting better.
I'd rather use vsbattles, they seem to be good at calculating feats and tiers.
uh huh
Yes, it is far better than comicvine and the debaters there are of a higher quality than Vine. Compared to vine, they have a penchant for using real science over almost everything. They do not stick with split durability as much as vibe nor do they wank characters as much as viners do. On the flip side, I'm not a fan of having likes.
@jashugan: After seeing this thread, I was totally waiting for you to make a comment on this. However, the thing about real life science is that a lot of animes/mangas, video games, comics, and cartoon (Mostly comics and cartoons) don't always follow the laws of real life science & logic.
Generally speaking their knowledge on comics is limited but they're better than viners at pretty much everything else. logic, calc even humour.

Yup, and durability types do exist.
@digitaldemon: of course they don't and that's why the site has rules for that and users know that
They're pretty good. Better than the vine for science and sci fi. The vine is better for comic stuff.
Overall, a pretty good site with some good people, generally less knowledgeable in comics stuff, but in most Sci-Fi stuff they are better than CV.
MUCH friggin better than VSBattles wiki, that much is true.
Better than the rest, through that's just because the users are generally more competent than here. They still wank through, just not as badly and about different stuff
They're literally better than this entire site.
The users (mods included) on this site have no idea what they're talking about, and will circlejerk/wank based on which series they like more. It's complete cancer.
People at Spacebattles at least use arguments based on logic and reasoning, not fanboyism.
@gabrielbelmont: galactic Empire are retarded.
Honestly at this point I'd say they're better than CV.
At this point can two turds be better than one another?
They have some users that know their stuff, they have some that don't. It's just like any other debate forum.
@killbilly: What feats and quotes? Hancock would die against Superman and "omnipotent" is a term of hyperbole frequently used in fiction, in-universe and out-of-universe.
You seem to basically think Superman cannot harm Hancock because of hyperbole quotes.
Depends just like every other forum. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't
Can't be worst then vsbattles

What are you talking about?
@randybutternubs: One user in Spacebattles said that bankai Ichigo is only 2x faster than peak humans.

I agree with this one
SB seems to be a pretty good place for vs. debates. I was actually thinking whether or not I wanted to join there instead of CV.
@watertaco: Why are you here then? Just to be salty?
I don't have an account on any site I consider garbage.
Yes and No. As stated above; they're pretty good when it comes to sci-fi and science, and we're better when it comes to comics and I'd say we're better with hax understandings. However, they're too overly reliant on Real Life science, logic, and laws when it comes to fictional setting.
Quite a few fictional setting will sometimes ignore certain scientific laws and logic. They'll chalk it up as unquantifiable or an outlier as it ignores certain laws of science. They'll also ignore how some fictional verses cosmology works.
When it comes to hax, we're superior here, in my opinion. Spacebattles full-heartedly believes (at least from what I have seen is some of their debates and having some debates with them on there) that higher physical stats can overcome hax. While, yes, that can happen depending on the verse and how said hax work, and if the said character can blitz the haxier character. However, if the lower stat character is faster and has hax that the higher stat character can't resist. Odds are that the lower stat character will win.
Example: Let's say we put a planet level character who is 6 million times the speed of light and he's filled to the brim with hax and he's up against a universal character who is only light speed and has no hax or hax resistances. Said planet level character is more than likely going to win by speed blitzing and hax the universal character to death.
Spacebattles would simply look at the character being universal and automatically assume he'll win by virtue of being universal when realistically he doesn't win.
So, all in all, Spacebattles is 50/50. I think they're reliable when it comes to sci-fi and science, but I think we're more reliable in the comic and hax department.
The people on there are morons.
