So, in Infinity War Thanos threw a moon at IM right? And a huge chunk of space rock, like, really huge, hit him at re-entry speeds.

As far as we know, it did minimal damage to him. Considering his armour is barely scratched when we see him afterwards.

If this barely did anything to IM, then does that mean Thanos can punch with at least this much force? His punches were really damaging IM.

I don't know, what do you think?

@laurus: Because that moon was an MCU moon, making it an anti feat for the Moon because it didn’t one shot someone as weak as iron-man, duh

@laurus: As to the actual feat, tbh, Thor, Captain Marvel, Thanos, and Hulk ALL being small moon busters by the end of A4 wouldn’t surprise me...

Well Thanos beat the hell out of Hulk, so I'm not surprised that he would be strong enough to damage the suit. That's a nice catch though. Never noticed.

Yeah, good point. Thinking about it, the moon didn't make him bleed either, but Thanos did. That's pretty insane.

That moon was moving pretty slowly and the Bleeding Edge suit can repair itself, so it shouldn’t have done that much damage and we can’t actually tell how much damage that the moon crushing the suit did. But Thanos damaging the suit shouldn’t surprise anyone since he beat the snot out of Hulk already.

Yes and No. From a mid-tier perspective the feat is incredibly great and would allow room for one-shot arguments but s far as high-tiers go, no. The feat is pretty much the same as Thor's feat with outrider ships, only difference is Thor's feat is more impressive due to the sheer size of the ship which would imply a much bigger impact yet Thor was able to bust through in one swift motion. The fact that Thanos didn't outright punch through him with the first hit would put his feat beneath Thor's unless he was holding back ( which I doubt considering he about to blast his face in the end)

@mister_surreal:

The Bleeding edge Suit can’t replace lost parts unless it takes it from another region. Tony’s Suit was undamaged when the meteor hit.

@emanresu_20: Yes and there is no way to tell how damaged it was. Even when it lost a lot of armour, the suit looked the same.

@mister_surreal:

No way of telling? You can visibly see the suit still intact for the most part. No parts were missing.

Yeah, good point. Thinking about it, the moon didn't make him bleed either, but Thanos did. That's pretty insane.

reason besides the standard answer of plot issues/inconsistencies would probably be due to the moon itself having a large surface area in terms of contact, reducing the overall force applied.... therefore the armor could still protect the human inside reasonably well.

Thanos' punch is of a smaller surface area in terms of contact, so the force applied would be bigger.

Not only that, the bleeding edge armor seems less durable compared to other older suits in exchange for the vast versatility and power upgrades. I would imagine the nano-tech helmet is thinner and closer to Stark's face as compared to the older helmets.
