Joker is IMO better than every MCU film.

The interesting thing is Cap’s origin story man. Honestly it’s well written, acted and fast.

Many critics give lower and higher scores to media based off of political agendas. I would say the majority of them these days. Joker happened to get caught up in the culture war ( to its detriment ). The same thing happened to Captain Marvel ( to its benefit ).

It was dark? - Logan was dark. Probably darker.

It was violent? - Logan was violent, Watchmen was violent, Deadpool was violent

It told relevant social commentary? - So did Black Panther

It won major awards - So did the Dark Knight, so did Black Panther

Comic book movies are still such a new genre, that you could say a bunch of movies are "refreshing and new".

Blade was basically a horror movie

Winter Soldier is a political thriller

Deadpool is a straight up comedy

The Dark Knight is a drama
