Is Infinity War just a big pile of outliers?

I watched Infinity War for the first time in along time and it seems chock full of outliers all around

  • Thor's feats in Nidavellir and Stormbreaker defeating a complete infinity gauntlet blast
  • Dr. Strange fight vs 4 stone Thanos. I think this is the biggest outlier or tied with Thor
  • Ironman fight vs Thanos.
  • Wanda holding back Space Stone Thanos while destroying the mind stone
  • Spiderman casual block of Cull obsidian who is supposed to be Hulk level strength and his fight vs thanos
  • Power stone only knocking out Bucky and Okoye in Wakanda
  • Cap able to stop Thanos hand
  • Proxima fight vs Wanda

It seems like there are just too many outliers from this movie that it is difficult to take feats from it seriously

MCU characters are often very reliant on scaling to feats from this movie. While still having a bunch of anti-feats from this movie.

For Spider-man you could just scale his iron spider suit to being that strong and not his other suits.

Obviously they were going to get a lot of better feats in a movie where all of the stones are together, narratively it just makes sense.

Though some of these characters either get new buffs(newest Tony suit + storm breaker) or we never really saw the limits of anyway

None of them, except maybe Spider-Man are outliers, when you consider the context of the fights

It's a movie full of unquantifiable messy things.

@kryptonianking88: why spidey though? Since he had the Iron spider suit just use that to explain the feats. This is the problem with Stark suits because they don't scale to base Tony (obviously) and neither should Spidey's suits scale to base/ techless peter.

None of these are outliers. Just had context to them.

The best explanation is that Thanos wasn't trying to kill them, is like when you play with a child, you don't try to hard because you know you are superior. Thanos was reeking overconfidence, narcissism and a little bit of superiority complex, but can we blame him? He had the infinity stones
