@kevd4wg: There aren’t many characters who are better than him. Perhaps Reeves Superman, Tobey Spider-Man, Xavier and Logan, and RDJ Iron Man.
But he’s definitely better than all the other Supermen, the other Spider-Men, all the other X-Men, most Batmen, vast majority of the Avengers (inb4 Ant-Man or Scarlet Witch is a better character than Oliver Queen)
I’m just including heroes right now and not villains.
@chimeroid: @the_hajduk:I would disagree entirely. I only watched through S6 of Arrow, but out of 6 seasons, he only had 3 seasons of decent character writing, and S5 was largely just a retread of S2. The character writing in Arrow does not compare to the development in a lot of superhero content. Just a list of the top of my head of characters I consider better
And that's just scratching the surface honestly. I simply can't consider him close to top tier
@kevd4wg: I just love stories where we see such a large chunk of a person’s life, and how they change over the course of a whole lifetime.
We see Oliver Queen from his early adulthood till his death. He changes in very big but very organic ways. At first he is a big loner and haunted by his past. He is also a borderline villain with some of the things that he does and was a villain in his past. Then he becomes a hero and accepts his past and his place in the present. Then he becomes a leader and the most emotionally mature character in the show. At the end he is a fully self actualized person and he is worthy to become an agent of god chosen from the multiverse.
Only on Comicvine, he's barely recognizable as Green Arrow, played by a mediocre actor in a show that has multiple unwatchable seasons. Ah CV, how far you've fallen.
I considered watching it for the hell of it, but damn, it's still that bad? Has Amell at least improved? I remember the Australian dude who played Deathstroke being good. The acting gap was wide between him and the others though, especially Roy and Sara.
How far has it fallen from where it was around the time Damien Darhk shows up?
If it's gotten worse I might just turn it on in the background while I play online or something.
Ok lmao, but seriously, you'd put it up there with Daredevil?
I can't really judge because I tuned out around the time Darkh shows up as the overall antagonist, and while I don't recall anything terrible, I felt it was getting very repetitive, especially with Felicity/Oliver.
@theacidskull: I quit halfway through season 4. Then I started watching Season 5 half way and then quit again after the Deathstroke episodes in season 6. Only episodes I watched since involved crossovers and 2 or 3 with Nyssa/Talia. When this show gets bad it becomes legit unwatchable.
Manu Bennet who played Slade only appeares in a total of 6 episodes after season 2. So he certainly couldn't save it.
Nah not for me
MCU Steve, Thanos, Thor, Strange, Loki and Tony, Foxverse Magneto and Logan, DCEU Clark, Zod and Shazam, Dick Donner Supes, Burton Batman, Nolan Batman, Bane and Joker, Snyder Doc Manhattan, Phillips Joker, Netflix Daredevil, Killgrave and Kingpin would be my line up of the best.

very good list those would probably be my picks too.
Not even close
Stephen Amell's Batman wannabe- I mean Green Arrow, was only good in the early seasons. He pales in comparison to 70% MCU characters, Nefliix Daredevil JJ Kingpin Kilgrave LG Punisher, Legion, Tobey Spidey, Xavier Mags, Logan, Bale Batman.
He probably better than the shitty CW DC characters, but that's a low bar.
Yup, definitely one of my favorite live action comic book heroes. He is generally a cool character but I really enjoyed how badass he was in seasons 1,5, and 8 specifically. Although I do prefer MCU Daredevil, MCU Iron Man, V from V for Vendetta, and Raimi Spiderman over him however.
