Poll Is current Thor (MCU) now be able to survive a 30.000 ft drop? (66 votes)

Yes he's a star level now 52%
Nope, i'm sure as hell he'll die miserably 20%
He'll survive a reentry. 29%

A free falling from the Hellicarrier inside that glass prison, unscathed?

Thor can't use his new hammer/lightning cloak to get out of that confined space.

He always has been. The implication of that scene made no sense.

Yes there is. That was when Odin sent him to earth in Avengers.

If he does, it shows how weak MCU 30000 feet drops are.

Hulk punching Thor in the face is a far greater impact than reentry. I do t see an issue with him surviving reentry level velocities.

A 30,000 foot drop isn’t really that impressive for someone in Thor’s tier.

Thor survives it now like he would've survived it then pretty much unharmed, stunned at most.

It's the same as Cap's helicopter feat. Cap has far better strength feats than that but he had no idea whether he had the strength required to pull back a helicopter simply because he's never done it. Similarly in case of Thor, the reason why Thor was afraid of falling from that height was probably because he never fell from that high before. The same reason why he tried to dodge bullets on the Helicarrier.

@bleidd: Thor has endured terminal velocity falls though. It just doesn't make sense to me for Thor or Loki to think that a fall could possibly hurt him at all, let alone kill him. I'd just chalk it up as stupidity.

Yeah he took this fall out of the Asgardian palace and returned later with no daamge. And that was after taking a blast from Gungir.

He also took this while weakened.

@amcu: Hm. Joss probably wanted to make his character more grounded and heighten the tension in that scene. Guess it was stupid afterall.

@amcu: I’m pretty sure it wasn’t the fall that was the problem, it was the cage he was in potentially squishing him like a boot on impact (Fury even compared said cage to a boot when threatening Loki with it)

Dumb question. That he took the force of a star doesn't make him star level and yes he would tank that fall.

You might as well make it a 3 feet fall, that 14% would still be there.

Yes. IIRC it's the Thor the Dark World prelude.

Current Thor is tanking stars and you're asking about 30k feet drops. That's hilarious.

There's a thing call terminal velocity. Falling should never ever threaten Thor/Hulk.
