I think his feats belong in the same conversation but I wouldn`t say that he`s exactly on par with Sherlock Holmes.
I think he's at least on par. I mean Sherlock is good but bats puts pieces to a puzzle before the box is open sometimes
His deduction skills are similar but I think Holmes is the better detective. He gets the same results with a fraction of the gear.

I know he is meant to be on sherlock's level but i have never seen evidence (except for the brave and the bold episode where he is a better detective than sherlock.)
Which sherlock? TV sherlock stomps him because TV sherlock is a poorly-written plot device.
Book sherlock, on the other hand, loses.
@mrmxyzptlk: I was thinking all media
Sherlock is way more consistent with his detective abilities than Batman.
This. In some stories Batman's detective abilities are superior to Sherlock's, but in most stories the world's greatest detective cannot solve relatively simple mysteries (usually because that would resolve the story in half an issue rather than 6).
SHERLOCK HOLMES:
You see that slight tinge of green in the water? that is only consistent with one type of poison from a small town in the south east of China, I visited when I was but a small boy. and here, you can see that all of the cutlery is on the left side this means that the person we are looking for is left handed.....ahh see here Watson in the bathroom we can see a clean cutthroat razor, Watson check the drain for hairs.............I haven't found anything sir hmmm so the person is left handed and bearded. he also has a few letters from a woman called *************. We should go and talk with her....................................................................Hello Mrs ******** we have come to talk to you about a man living at *********************, can you give us a detailed description of the man? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, the man we are looking for is 6ft 4" tall, has blue eyes, black hair, a long scruffy beard and walks with a limp on the left side........YES! I remember this man, he was at my birthday party a couple of years ago. He did get overly exited when he looked at my laboratory, Come Watson we are going to have a little chat with this gentleman.
BATMAN:
First off... Nolan Batman is not at all comic book Batman.
That said, I imagine Bruce being a step or two above classic Holmes from literature, and about on par with Cumberbatch Sherlock from the recent TV series.
We don't get to see it much because most of the time Bruce can simply use his tech... but also not forgetting that he himself probably created most of that tech.
Comic book Batman is on par with Holmes. Even in the New 52, we have great examples of detective work in CoO, Zero Year, and Death of the Family.
Nolan Batman is a complete joke, not even comparable to Holmes. Not that his movies weren't entertaining, though.
Anybody who reads Sherlock Holmes knows that his feats are almost inhuman.
Batman also fights people who use more gadgets and tech, maybe people should stop overlooking that.
Yes Batman is on the level of Sherlock when it comes to Detective/Deductive skills.
And to those that say Batman isn't due to him having more tech
1. Sherolock like Batman would use the same technology available to him at the time (and vice verse)
2. Batman faces more deadly threats than Sherlock does and those threats Batman faces has the same (and sometimes more) tech available to them.
As for people who say that the detective feats for Batman aren't consistent, they have been shown consistent throughout the years.
