Is Avengers: Infinity War(2018) overrated?
I'd say it's the best CBM in terms of battles and bringing the fights to life though it isnt a better film than TDK but a great film nonetheless
@grimus: The fact that Thanos sparred lives added depth to him IMO. Instead of him just being big punchy murder guy he respected those who fought for what they believe.
The only people he killed were people who tried to sneakily Attack him like a snake ( Loki) and people who he absolutely needed to do he could achieve his goal. He didn’t want to just go around killing people for fun. He had a strong sense of honor for those who fought him in battle.
It's quite an achievement really. This movie had every reason to be an absolute mess with so many characters and overbearing components.
The fact the Russos delivered something far from that, exceeding my expectations at least.. I just gotta tip my hat to these guys. They killed it man. They just absolutely killed it.
@saberscar223: Very true but Loki had it coming. With Loki there is too much "Oh he's dea... wait he's ali.. wait he's dead."
Thanos was committing genocide throughout the cosmos though lol. I get that he let IM live (I think it was) because he admired him? The others didn't make sense to me
Compared to black panther, no.
It was good, but could've been so much more. I give it 9/10, it could've been 10/10 and people are acting as if it were.
Not at all. TDK and Logan might technically be better films, but IW stands alone when it comes to superheroes doing what superheroes do
@heatforce: I'm asking what pis not what it means
It’s not a masterpiece but is the greatest and well made superhero movie I’ve ever seen after. Spiderman 2 is my favorite movie in general but in terms of superhero movies this is better
I think so. I prefer MCU movies over DCEU but I didn't like Infinity War that much. Yes, it was entertaining but the amount of power inconsistency really irked me. I couldn't care less about Scarlet Witch and Vision's relationship. Plus, the "deaths" after the Thanos Snap was not convincing at all. Even Spiderman sobbing stirred no emotion for me. Everyone probably come back at the end so I was left with a "meh" feeling. It's not the best but it certainly isn't the worst. I liked Thanos, when he was actually wrecking folks, and I liked Ebony Maw. I'm glad Thor got a power boost but his Stormbreaker was wayyyyy too powerful.
As routine. Whenever a new popular movie comes out, there's going to be those who deem the movie overrated due to the hype. (Not talking to the author. Just in general)
My answer is no. It did a great job setting up Thanos to be a massive villain in the upcoming part 2 and had fantastic action scenes, great music, great writing for the characters, and had a super impactful ending.
Hell no it’s a CBM masterpiece. The best CBM and it’s showing it by dominating the box office like no other movie ever has.
No. It's a magnificent movie and a tremendous accomplishment.
Agreed. I think it's amazing to have that many big stars in a movie, have a well written plot, and everything still ties in together.
