Both that and Captain Marvel are servicable generic popcorn movies. They have so much more potential to more than that but Direction and script is holding them back.
Also I don't like Wasp character. She is incredibly bland compared to rest of Antman's characters. Her main thing is to roll her eyes or laugh when Scott do something Stupid.and being badass but not doing anything Crucial.
Yes. It's genuinely a bad movie. No other non-mcu movie would be given a pass with a script that shallow and weak. If you cut out the repetitive jokes and cat and mouse plot points you're left with an hour long "movie" if that. It's basically the type of plot i'd expect from an Ant-Man Saturday morning cartoon, not feature length film. I payed $5 to see it and I still felt like I got jipped.
Overall very average, but I think it had one good bit that endgame actually added on to, the whole parent as an idol kind of thing, with his daughter really wanting to be his partner, and now that he's missed out on the last 5 years of her life and now that she's grown, how will he be able to say no?
Honestly this little side detail of the movie makes me look forward to the third one, and I really hope we get an overall really good antman movie, and I'm disappointed they don't have one planned for the next 4 years, but i don't mind waiting as long as they make an actually good movie
Both Ant-Man movies were horrible in just about every way.
They constantly flip flop on how his powers work every other scene.
In the first 45 seconda of him using the suit they contradict his mass 6 times.
Paul Rudd is a crap actor in the first place.
The movies should have been about Hank not some doofus who broke in and stole a suit he does not even understand.
All the side characters are generic comic relief, which does not work well when the main actor is as well.
For a movie set in a universe that tries to be fairly realistic it was just an abomination
No it’s just generic.
This. It was also a bit disappointing for me since I really enjoyed the first movie, but it's rare for a sequel to surpass the original. I will say that I believe I was less dissatisfied with Ant-Man and the Wasp than I was with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Personally I believe it was rather excellent, funny and good paced. The villains were bland but it had cool action scenes, a decent plot and some cool soundtrack. I’d rate it a 7.5/10 and arguably a 8/10.
Alongside Thor: The Dark World and The Incredible Hulk is the most underrated MCU movie.
