So basically, this thread is a redo of an old thread I did, called ‘Invincible (comic) 100 million x FTL‘.
Someone pointed out an error in the calc so… I’m redoing it, I didn’t have to but it just felt weird having a calc out there which I couldn’t edit so here is the new one…
^^^CoP ship goes from Talescria to Viltrum. Later, we see a similar ship faster than it so it’s vital for the calc…
Now, the ship they used to go back to Talescria from Viltrum took a maximum of two weeks to get back as Mark awoke and was stated to be comatose for two weeks, which means they got back in that time or less:
To start off the calc…
We assume Talescria is in the nearest galaxy, which would be the Canis Major Density; 25,000 LYs away:
Now Viltrum is stated to be in the Virgo Cluster:
Canis Major is not in the cluster and handbook states the galaxy it is in is the Virgo Cluster, even though the super cluster is not a galaxy, so this is just a small mishap.
^^^The cluster is 65.23 million LYs from Earth, so splitting the difference means it is 59.98 million LYs from Canis Major, rounded to 60 million…
2 weeks= 1,210,000 seconds
60 million LYs= Around 350,000,000,000,000,000,000 miles
350,000,000,000,000,000,000/1,210,000= Around 290,000,000,000,000
To find c, we divide by 186,000…
290,000,000,000,000/186,000= Approximately 1,559,139,780c.
This means the ship can go at least 1.5 billion c.
Mark however…
For proof that the ship he outsped was at least as fast, if not faster than the ship in said feat…
This means Invincible can go at least 1,559,139,780 times the Speed of Light in interstellar flight.
A better speed feat is actually Omni-Man’s [to Thraxa] since it was actually in a different galaxy, not just the closest Star System:
It took Omni-Man a week to get to Thraxa, as his own in-canon narration states:
The Virgo Cluster is 65 Million LYs away from Earth and Nolan travelled that distance in around 7 days.
65,000,000 x 365 = 23,725,000,000 days it takes for light to reach the cluster.
23,725,000,000 ÷ 7 {days} = 3,389,285,714.29c
This feat would be a bare minimum of 3+ billion x SoL.
