During Infinity War, Thanos is smart when he fights tony on Titan and manages to stab him in the gut.

Why didn’t Cap just do the same thing in Civil War instead of uselessly punch Iron man’s armor? He should’ve brought something sharp or found something in that base and used his superstrength to just stab Tony after weakening or deactivating the armor somehow. Or maybe found the strength to stab him THROUGH the armor.

Also, Cap has SUPER STRENGTH. He was able to block Thanos’ fist, why didn’t he just break Tony’s neck?

They nerfed him in Civil War.

How about because Tony was still Steve's friend and Cap was fighting defensive trying to protect Bucky without hurting Tony until the very end of the Civil War fight where he almost decapitates Iron Man? At what point in Civil War does it give you the impression Cap wanted to kill Tony?

@dasalvadore: cap literally told Bucky “He’s not going to stop.” If he’d let Tony live, Tony can track down Bucky AGAIN and try to kill him (maybe for real this time). He needed to end it right there in Siberia.

It’s like Obi Wan and Darth Maul in Star Wars Rebels. Like there was no way Obi was letting Maul walk away from that fight and endanger Luke.

Steve isn’t strong enough to snap Iron Man’s neck in his suit. Comparing Thanos to Cap is a VERY bad comparison.

To be fair, I doubt Thanos was using his full strength when blocking Cap. He probably thought he was just some pathetic human not worth using his full power (or he would've just vaporized him using his gauntlet).

And isn't Tony's armor different in IW? It seems like it's made out of nanobots. I'm not sure how much stronger against piercing weapons it is than his armor in Civil War. Hopefully someone else could confirm this.

And Steve didn't want to kill Tony. I doubt he would have grabbed a lethal weapon like a sharp object and try and stab him - IN A FIGHT. What if he used too much strength and stabbed his heart instead? Or his head? Steve wouldn't do that.

@jasonv80: Yeah, but Steve was still playing defensive trying to talk Tony down. Thanos is a space alien with god-like power looking to kill half the universe. How in the nine hells do the two situations equal each other?

@dasalvadore: I’m just saying that Steve was using up a lot of energy punching Tony and not being too effective when he could’ve used a different method to end the fight quickly

He was using a lot of energy trying to STOP Tony. If he used that energy to try and KILL him, that's a different story, and would make sense that he should be capable of stabbing him.

While this is clearly a bait thread, Cap did hold Thanos in place .It is 100% PIS, but it was so much fun.

Since when is cap on Thanos level of strength that he can stomp Iron Man? Thanos wasn't even trying when cap grabbed his hand. Your post makes no sense Cap is not that powerful. And he is nowhere near Thanos level strength unless you think Cap is going to go h2h with the Hulk?

You realise Steve is not on Iron Man's level especially after infinity war with his new suit and Cap would've lost one on one vs Iron Man and was pretty much beat anyways he only won cause he got him from behind when he wasn't lookimg. And he only lasted so long because he had Bucky and it was very close quarters and Iron Mans suit was weak af in Civil War. If it was in an open space Tony would've wrecked them. Do you actually think Cap is stronger than Iron Man? Cause that is just a ridiculous claim

This thread is dumb af you clearly have a hard on for Cap because nothing you're saying makes any sense or has any validity.

@thorthunder98: what do you mean? Cap literally picked Iron man up and raised him over his head before slamming him into the ground.

Same reason he didn't decapitate Tony when he had the chance.

@jasonv80: you do realize Thanos stabbed tony in his exposed side right? Cap isn’t strong enough to knock pieces of his suit off And also Captain Wasn’t trying to kill Tony or he would’ve killed him with his shield.

Who said Cap isn't as strong as Iron Man? Iron Man is a dude in a suit, Cap has super strength and has gone toe to toe with Loki, Red Skull (also super strength), Thanos, Thor, Black Panther, Spider-Man...he's no weakling. And Tony's armor can only protect him so much, as we saw in Civil War. It's not a case of Iron Man being weak, it's that Cap is strong.

Steve never wanted to hurt Tony. Why do you think he'd stab him and risk killing him?

See, that's what I still don't understand at all.

Cap himself said that Tony wasn't going to stop. Meaning, no matter what happened, TONY WASN'T GOING TO STOP until he killed Bucky. That means if he and Bucky ran away, Tony would keep hunting Bucky down until he was dead.

When there's no other solution, Cap has to take action. It would be the same for Loki and Thor, too. If Loki was going to kill the Avengers, Jane, Selvig, etc and wasn't going to stop until they were all dead, then Thor has an obligation to end Loki, even if it's his brother.

It would be hard for Steve to kill Tony, but he wouldn't risk Bucky's life.
