@saberscar223: this.
Also gives it a extra week without compitition before Solo and Deadpool 2 are released.
I think Marvel wants that biggest opening ever title. This is a DC tactic. Have the movie open everywhere at the same time so the opening looks jacked. Imagine the opening weekend Marvel will have to boast about when this puppy opens worldwide at the same time. Mostly ww anyway. I think.
So Marvel Studios was so much firm with the Thor Ragnarok vs Justice league scenario, and with the biggest comic book movie ever they are afraid of Deadpool?
Lets not pretend they are not running away from Deadpool (also that Star Wars spin that had to drop the Star Wars name from the title in China) and this is not a precedent where Marvel Studios moves the release date due to competition.
Also when it comes to release and marketing, Deadpool is above every other franchise.
Is it releasing worldwide at the same time?
Seems to be the case...
Yeah I can use the internet freely without worrying about people spoiling it
@jayc1324: I think that was the date for us here in the UK.
@the_living_tribunal_24: I think they moved the date up in America to avoid spoilers
@jayc1324: Yeah that’s what I was thinking.
But they still have that red carpet premiere
@jayc1324: marvel trying to stay 2 steps ahead of me, doesn't matter ill even spoil myself so I can spoil it for other people. Marvel can't stop me comicvine can't stop me you're all getting spoiled.
@saberscar223: Nope other countries like Australia will still get the movie before anyone else and people get invites to early screenings, plus reviews :p
@asgaard: Marvel has no fear of Deadpool. Who cares if Deadpool has good marketing ? It wont touch Infinity war
That is why they didn't move the release date... Even the new untitled releases announced by Disney for Marvel Studios Movies are set the first weekend of May for the US, just like always...

There was surely no fear, BUT now instead of having a 55% drop in its 3rd week it will maybe only have a 45% drop. The difference could mean as much as $12-$15 million more on its long term box office total.
