In Winter Soldier, how did Bucky NOT splatter Cap's head?

Bucky and his bionic arm were shown to tear through cars like a hot knife through butter, rip doors off of vehicles, rips a steering wheel off like it's nothing, scratches solid asphalt, and was made to be this epic thing every time he punched Cap's shield.

Yet when he punches Cap point black in the face with what looked to be full-power shots, it does no more damage that a regular person punching another person point black.

Cap's head should have exploded on impact. First punch. Gone.

It's a movie?

He is a super soldier, he punches people flying, yet its a normal fist fight vs Red Skull because Skull is also enhanced. so i would assume Cap has the same kind of durability as Schmitt.

Captain America's abilities and durability was never measured in the movie.

We don't know how strong, fast, or durable he really is.

He tanked shots from Loki, the Skull and Bucky's robotic arm and took a dive off the bridge during the highway fight scene of the Winter Soldier.

I'd say so when it comes to blunt impact damage.

I can believe that. But at the same time... with as easily as Bucky tore through other extremely tough objects, he couldn't even KO Cap? lol

I wish he would have punched Cap with his normal fist and then wound up for the final blow with his metal arm, then ultimately decide not to do it. It would have been a ton more believable than how it went.

2. Cap can't die (until he does)

He should've died but it's a movie. He's not that durable

Bucky also could have just sniped Cap without Cap being aware but it's a movie.

If he puchd him with his normal hand, Cap would barely feel it. In Avengers he literally punches a Chitauri's arm off and takes a shot the the tummy and gets back up again. Plus the 12 normal blokes in the lift couldn't hurt him, why would bucky's normal hand?

IDK. It's more believable than the bionic arm NOT being able to shatter Cap's skull. As it went, Cap's skull must be harder than cement.

but you also have to remember that he put a serious hurting on Cap....if it weren't for the Helicarrier going down and interrupting their fight then he would have definitely killed Cap...as it is he still did enough damage to Cap that he was unconscious and didn't wake up after falling in the water and had to be saved and we don't know how long he was out for either...it could have been days or even weeks

Cap flew off an expressway overpass, bounced off of a car then went through a bus.

Not sure, it maybe that the winter soldier was trying to understand what Cap was telling him before

we don't know how long he was out for...that's not speculating...it's a fact....no where in the movie did it say how long he was out for so we don't know how much damage Bucky did to him

edit: I also want to point out that that is what this thread is about...the OP is asking us to speculate as to why Bucky's hits didn't kill Cap

Probably because a human head can roll to absorb the impact of a punch, while a car window can't.

It can only roll so far before it comes clean off. And regardless of the sway, if the impacting blow is hard enough, it can splatter the head for sure. Imagine being hit in the head with a sledgehammer. Same principal.

CAUSE HE'S A SUPER SOLDIER

Because the Super Soldier serum enhanced his durability meaning he can take more damage than an ordinary human ever could. This happens all the time in comics yet you don't see this kind of complaint. Cap has taken heavier damage than what The Winter Soldier could dish out. Besides, in the final fight, Bucky's blows really mess with Steve's face.

The question isn't how can Bucky NOT splatter Cap's head, but is how can he do it with Cap's superhuman durability. I mean unless you have statements of MCU Cap being a peak human ( which you obviously do not ) or only has peak human level feats ( which you also don't have ), than you will have to accept that this Cap is a superhuman and this is just a good durability feat for Cap

Cap is durable as hell, although it's not like it didn't mess him up.

I don't know how people don't understand this, look at the title of the movie. "Captain America..."

Because Cap has massive blunt force durability.

1. jumped out of an elevator and fell hundreds of feet, only to stand up uninjured moments later

2. got hit by an RPG which knocked him 100 feet back and 30 feet down right through a moving bus

3. Knocked around Spider-Man like a ragdoll... the very guy who caught Winter Soldier's full force metal punch like it was nothing

And none of these things tell you he may have the durability to take that hit?

Who cares it's a FEAT
