i hated how poorly disrtubted it was. All of the Summers' siblings retained their abilities, only one Guthrie [out of 4 that were still powered] lost theirs, None of the original 5 X-Men lost theirs and so on. It was all crap.
@pixelized: I think there could have been a number of different ways to limit the number of mutants but they just would have been just as selective about who lost them. But then again they had already done the destruction of Genosha, 16 million mutants dead and it barely registered anywhere else. The return of the Legacy virus but the cure would completely remove the mutant's powers, that coulda been nice. Now ending with approx 300 mutants that was kinda stupid. Shoulda at least kept a couple thousand so we didn't know who every mutant who kept their power was.

had it been distributed differently so that it were more believable i wouldn't have minded in the slightest. But for something that's supposed to be this huge pandemic, and all the big name mutants retain their abilities???? Lame.
One More Day/Brand New Day. I would have done it differently. I would have let Aunt May die, and have Peter break up with MJ for her own protection. That should have been the start of Brand New Day.

There are 4 or so books with the word "Avengers" in the title right now. I haven't seen the Avengers since 2005.
Oh jeez, where do I start? I'd say Countdown to Infinite Crisis (Ruined Max and killed Ted), or Messiah Complex. Turning Bishop evil was one of the worst things to happen to the X-books in the last five years.
The only reason I'd keep One More Day is that it spawned the amazingness that is Brand New Day.

I do generally agree that Decimation (in which 6 semi important characters lose their powers and 3 of them get their powers back anyways. yawn) One More Day (in which Spiderman gives up the love of his life who happens to be a smoking hot supermodel and is generally awesome in every way to save his 200 year old aunt and Mephisto gains reality warping powers and a desire for love), Infinite Crisis (one big reality changing tribute of suck), and anything involving Xorn (pretending to be Magneto pretending to be Xorn) was a load of crap.
The only thing of consequence that happened was the death of the original Trickster. Much as that irks me, its really not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. Mary and Captain Atom are/will be good guys again. Nothing else happened.

Countdown to IC was a letdown..max used to be awesome..and Ted is still awesome.
It is one of the very worst comic series of all time (made even more so by the fact that they managed to get more than 50 issues of it published), I just don't think it was relevant enough to matter. Kinda like Chuck Austen's run on Uncanny, its all just being gradually swept under the mat for us.

Agreed. Part of the nice thing about alternate universes is that you can kill off characters and do things you couldn't do in the regular universe. This is also why Ultimatum doesn't work (no shock value if we don't care about the characters) but its not really that terrible either.
Which kinda makes me wonder why marvel retconned Exiles: World Tour to not have gone through the actual alternate universes. Like they were gonna use 2099 anytime soon.
I would say Emerald Twilight but thankfully Geoff Johns fixed that and made Hal Jordan better than ever, so I would erase All Star Batman and Robin. Other than the first issue Frank Miller should be forced to erase that entire series and start from scratch.
