If Snyder Cut of JL turns out to be really good or at least better than BvS will it silence DCEU Haters?

I don’t think it matters since DCEU already failed and a little victory won’t gain anything to it.

Being better than BvS is not an achievement considering how much of a failure that film was.

BvS is a great movie, so that's a tall order.

The DCEU has already had good, solid films (Wonder Woman and Shazam!), and there’s still people who absolutely despise the DCEU. The quality doesn’t matter. There’s always going to be haters of the whole franchise even if there’s a few really good films.

The same can be said for any franchise honestly.

When the BvS UE dropped there were people lining up online to apologize to Zack saying they misjudged him and his film. Watchmen had the same result. I expect something like this but on a larger scale

I mean BvS UE only made it less of a mess, but still overbloated and slightly less terrible. But I will be watching the Snyder Cut with an open mind.

BvS UE is great. I believe one of the guotes from the film is "people hate what they don't understand". Which is how I feel about this movie and towards MCU fans in general. So I don't pay too much mind haters.

If it will be good, then I'll be happy with that (but it won't change my opinion that all other DCEU movies are average or bad).

It's the version of JL we would have got had Snyder finished directing JL instead of Whedon.

It's a sequel to BvS technically.

It is much more than an extended version. The whole movie is different and significantly longer. The plot is different. Much more character development, different tones, different events, etc. It is basically going to be a new movie.

Yeah exactly. In the flashback to the big fight with Steppenwolf it was supposed to be darkseid for example. It was supposed to be a 3 part series I think, at least 2 parts. GL would be introduced, Martian Manhunter, (maybe Shazam idk), I think the Atom too.

I'll watch it but it's essentially polishing a broken toy.

It will likely be better and definitely more fluid with the rest of the DCEU but it won't save/fix the franchise.

I pity the DC fans, the MCU definitely had its share of hiccups but never were the characters/plot handled as poorly as what has been done in DC.

A part of me genuinely wants it to be good. I love watching stories where the characters I love get to be represented on the big screen, and it’s one of the ultimate fulfillments as a fan because they can be shared with everyone. Not only that, but I feel for Zack Snyder. He’s suffered so much unwarranted, needless, vile shit from people. He’s nowhere near my favorite director, and I am not a big fan of many of his movies, but seeing him do what will most likely be his swan song for DC would make me feel better for him.

That being said, a small part of me wants it to be awful to spite his terrible fanatics who rage and insult anyone who doesn’t like Man of Steel or BvS. They’re undeserving of the work they’ve just been given, but they get it anyway. I’m not saying everyone calling for the Snyder Cut is like this, but the majority of what I’ve seen and the interactions I’ve had, all they do is trash anything not Zack Snyder, call people idiots for having a difference of opinion, and too many other ugly and repugnant things to list.

At the end of the day, I’m going to watch it and give it a fair judgment, because that’s what most filmmakers deserve (I say most because who’s going to watch a Uwe Boll film and expect anything else but shit). I’d be remiss to go watch a movie just to shit on it. So we’ll see what happens.
