I live in Romeoville IL, a suburb outside of Chicago (NIU Graduate!! :-) On ESPN Chicago 1000 am, a radio station I heard for the first time a comic book advertisement!! Marvel took out add time for New Avengers, and Superior Iron Man. They took add time out on a popular radio show during morning rush hour too! Im am very happy to see this. I hope this is a start of a trend within the industry!! Anyone else hear or see any advertising??

Marvel and ESPN are owned by Disney so I'm not surprised that a parent company would do this. I listen to ESPN 710 LA but haven't heard it on my end.

I remember a few years ago I was driving late at night and an ad for Marvel NOW! was on.

A radio show I used to listen to actually had an interview with Gerry Duggan shortly after Deadpool's first Marvel NOW! arc.

There's a popular morning radio show back home that regularly brings up comics since one half of the DJ couple is a huge fan of them. Every week he brings in someone from The Mary Sue web blog, and it's freaking awesome. I love getting the little side commentary they have.

Comic talk is on my car radio all the time. Oh wait, those are podcasts...

Pretty cool that you heard actually paid ads. I hope they get the response they want and circulation grows.

The closest I've ever seen to mainstream advertising in my area is Big Bang Theory if that counts.

One of my area's local radio shows had an interview with an artist who works on Harley Quinn's solo title, so that was pretty cool.

That's neat. The closest thing that has happened on the radio near here is an advertisement for "Big B Comics" which is a comic book store in Hamilton, Ontario.

Here in St. Louis, for awhile the oldies station were advertising for DC. They had 30 seconds commercials telling the origins of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Lantern, and Captain Marvel.

They were so cool! Good music and comics on the radio!
