I give up on CW Flash

The show is just so cringey and stagnant now it's unbearable. Iris leading the team makes absolutely no sense. She's a college drop out/failed reporter. She provides absolutely nothing when there's a genius in Wells, mechanical genius in Cisco, and an MD in Caitlyn. Just because the Flash is her human vibrater makes her the person to lead the team? Meh that's really all the comes to mind when it comes to the Flash. She's worse than Felicity at least she had a purpose and skills.

The flash was the last show on CW I watched and that's it. Hopefully they cancel Arrow too.

I kinda agree. I haven’t watched anything CW this entire season besides the crossover.

Kinda stopped after Season 3. Was holding off to see if S4 was any good but it doesn't seem that way.

None of the CW superhero shows are all that good really.

S3 was the final straw for me.

As a Flash fan, I was never a BIG fan of the show. Even the first Season, which a lot of people consider to not only be the best season of the Flash, but best Season out of all CW shows of this DC Universe overall (maybe after Arrow Season 2), wasn't such a big selling point for me. I decided to watch it just because I was curious to see how they will introduce my favorite DC hero in his own series, and I'm still watching it for the same reason. The reason why I liked Season 1 is because it was pretty good by CW standards, and I tried to ignore the fact that this is a Flash series because this is the CW after all, and none of their showings (at least super hero shows) are all that great.

I ignored that and I liked Season 1 because of it. Season 2 wasn't bad, but it didn't have a lot of good things. It was just bland, like meh. Kinda forgettable. Now Season 3 is where it went completely downhill. It was just pure atrocity. I could somehow enjoy the first two Seasons by acknowledging the fact that it is it's own separate Universe, but Season 3 made the show as a whole, complete shit, regardless of it being a Flash show or just another show. It was just the worst example of the CW trash. Now when it comes to Season 4, it's weird. For some reason I really enjoy it. Why do I enjoy it? It's not like it's the perfect interpretation of this world where the Flash Barry Allen lives in. It's not something God knows what. Maybe I just like it because it's different, with new type of villain and all that (not a speedster) plus the fact that everything is better than abomination that is Season 3.

Objectively speaking, Season 4 has a lot of problems as well. It just a bunch of cliche moments and episodes with standard CW drama, and some moments seem repetitive, where DeVoe haunts for a meta-human, then they try to save him/her, but they fail, and DeVoe changes his body, and we have some cringe worthy moment with his wife and a guy in a body of a woman. I really liked Neil Sandilands' performance as Clifford DeVoe and I hate the fact that they have those "changing bodies" concepts. The last meta human he possessed was a girl who can produce sonic waves or something (I have yet to watch episode 16) and Elongated Man already loves her despite the fact that he knew her for literally less than 48 hours? Really? Typical CW drama.

Still, I kinda like Season 4. Again, I don't know why, but I managed to ignore things that annoy me, simply because they are minor compared to all the bullshit I've seen in Season 3, and I have other things to focus on for Season 4, like a new villain who's mysterious but not in a cliche way. And the best part is Barry Allen. We finally have a version of Barry Allen that is optimistic and smiles. Again, not perfect but definitely much better than inspiration the writers had from DCEU/MoS Superman. I understand that you have a problem with Iris being the leader. I hate that (as well as that part with "WE ARE THE FLASH", no, BARRY IS THE FLASH, NOT HER).

Simple put, I enjoy Season 4 just because it's much better than the shit that is Season 3 and because they finally gave us Barry who smiles. They also got rid of other speedsters (for the most part) so we see Barry going solo, and his new costume is badass. The villain is unique, they gave me a reason to ignore standard CW stupidity and I don't think it will be as forgettable as Season 2. But it's not a perfect show. It never was and I don't think it will ever be. I understand why you want to pass on it and I agree that making Iris the Flash is one of the worst ideas ever. But again, they made it so I can focus only on good things, and that's a plus in my book.

I'd say the Flash is the best Arrowverse show, but it still pales in comparison to Agents of Shield and Daredevil.

Iris is TV cancer. It's truly a miracle the show hasn't been canceled because of her. I wish Savitar wasted her.

I've given up on it since the first episode.

If a member of Team Flash gets mad about something and leaves the room like a whiny toddler, only for another member to follow after them and have a heartfelt conversation one more time I'm gonna have a damn stroke. They literally used this twice in this week's episode, and they really need to come up with more creative ways of character interaction that don't involve forced moments that have all the subtlety of a brick to the face.

That said, Flash is okay. S4 has had some solid episodes. Flash is far from the best Arrowverse show (that award goes objectively to Legends of Tomorrow), but it's like Supergirl, inoffensively mediocre and predictable every week. It's not great, not terrible, just okay.

I dropped Flash at the start of season 4.

Couldn't take repetitive plot lines and pep talks every single episode, and like you said, the complete uselessness and annoyance of Iris.

To be honest, the writing of all the CW shows was on the wall when you saw the writers cave to fanboys wishes during the first olicity shipper war, in s02/3 of Arrow. And no, this isn't a blanket accusation, I was there when on IMDb, people were running and getting posts and twitter conversations with some of the writers. It was cancer. It showed to me that they don't mind trying to move their own plots for demand. That is a great way to get short term results, but not long term consistency as far as I am concerned.

Flash s01 was brilliant, still my favorite of the entire arrowverse, but yeah, s02 was repeat twist of s01, and s03 made it bad. To be honest, I haven't watched much of any of the arrowverse after the invasion arc, god that was the worst executed crossover I have ever seen. It took shows I didn't care about, mixed them with the ones that were, made bad plots in it, and more. Compared to the brilliance of the crossovers in s02, etc - between not as many shows, it worked. That was when I had most of my straws broken. But I have still been meaning to catch up on it all, except LoT.

I made it half-way through S03 because of a desire to see the next big crossover without too much confusion, and invasion completely broke all the last straws. Does that count?
