How would people feel if Tom Welling replaced Henry Cavill?

I'd laugh.

Would be very stupid since Welling already portrayed his own Superman, and Cavill isn't the problem to begin with. He has the same problem Routh had; great casting, lousy writing.

I would be like O_0 "The hell he's doing here".

I'd imagine most people would be pretty ticked off about it, though at this point, a reboot of the character might be in the best interests for both Henry and WB, but Welling is far, far away from being the solution.

It'd be extremely jarring and ill conceived. Hell even if the story was incredible, more people would be confused than pleased.

The best part about Tom Welling, for me, was how he looked to be growing very adequately into the role of superman. He wasn't just a portrayal, he was a commitment that very nearly paid off. Throwing him in the shoes of Henry spits on all the hard work Smallville did to build the character of Clark Kent with this boy to hero journey and says "look hes in the suit now, pay us."

I don't know why but i'd be offended.

Cavill is one of my favourite castings for a CBM.

Never seen a single EP of Smallville, so I’m indifferent

I've watched Smallville probably 2-3 times over and while I enjoy it for what it is, (especially Erica Durance) its pretty goddamn cringeworthy a lot of the times.

Lol a lot of cringeworthy moments but it has a lot of heart and I still love it. Erica Durance is awesome as Lois. One of my favourite live-action portrayals of a comic book character.

I love Tom Welling and I love Smallville, he's my favorite live-action Superman, but that would make no sense.

Cavill is a spectacular casting and I think he really does work in-universe. He just needs the chance to convey more of his natural charm over the course of future installments.

It would be the same as usual.
