How Powerful is MCU Ebony Maw?

I know I'm just asking for speculation, but it seemed like he was never really straining himself and we never got to see his full potential in Infinity War. If you had to guess, what do you think his upper limits would look like if he hadn't been caught off guard?

He's a low high tier.

Stronger than Doctor Strange but weaker than Thanos.

High Tier.

Mid tier

Less effective than Spiderman tier.

High tier.

High tier, well above base Thanos

Squidward tier.

He's high tier but his arrogance and nonchalance prevented him from using his powers to the fullest potential.

High tier easily. Telekinesis on a molecular level.

Wish we got to see more of him.

What I want Are more gifs of super human beings slicing cars in half.

One of the most powerful characters in the MCU. So much wasted potential tho ...

His skill is the main reason, as it allowed him to beat Dr Strange who has more powers. Maw's only powers are Telekinesis and Levitation, and he's likely the best in the MCU at using his Powers.

Unlikely. He's feared and served base Thanos for years.

I'm curious how Thanos recruited him in the mcu.

Feared? Where is that stated? He served Thanos because he believed in him.

Maw effortlessly ragdolled Cull, who is roughly Thanos tier strength. Maw could casually ragdoll Thanos, Thanos has no way to even approach Maw.

@aka_aka_aka_ak: Based on his dialogue with Strange, there is both fear and respect. Maw knows his place. No where in the MCU is it implied that Maw is on Thanos's level. Also, it's debatable whether he can even take Hulk (on this site). Hulk clearly cannot take Thanos.

@tonymartial: @rebake: Maw can ragdoll Cull, this has only to do with Cull's mass, not his strength or how much he was resisting. He can ragdoll a non-responsive Cull then he can ragdoll anything of that mass, i.e. Thanos. Think about it, when you lift something it's not how strong that thing is that determines how hard it is to lift, only its weight determines how hard it is to lift. Maw ragdolls Thanos, this isn't controversial, it has been demonstrated. He can ragdoll Cull then he can ragdoll Thanos, sorry if you don't like that.

Low High tier. He has potential to be higher, I mean IIRC it was confirmed that he can control matter on a molecular level or something like that. But he didn't use his full power to maximum potential.

Mid Mid tier.

As in above street levelers in terms of what he can do but much much below damage output of MCU high tiers like Thor, Hulk or Wanda.

In terms of durability, he's probably human level or slightly higher. He's definitely not above supersoldiers.

Maw's abilities are deceptive. He looked impressive while fighting Strange but this is only due to strange's low damage output. Someone like MCU War Machine who's a mid tier would blow Maw to bits with his M134. Iron Man would one shot him with a unibeam blast or a tank missile.

Maw is adept at handling people with low damage output.

Wonder Woman/Hulk level

He isn’t better than Strange, he doesn’t have his versatility and Stephen was clearly holding back against him for some reason, as evidenced by how impressive he was against Thanos on Titan.

Mid tier of the highest caliber

@socajunkie: Stephen wasn't holding back and it is clearly shown in his mannerisms, just because he did far worse here than in the Thanos fight where he had hours of time to prepare doesn't mean he was holding back.

Maw is just superior to Strange and Telekinesis is something strange can't fight against properly.

@socajunkie: or it can mean lack of competency. If I have a gun and some beats me before I got to use it, it doesn't mean I was holding back. Especially when strange's powers are heavily dependent on movement and he fought a character who can very easily hamper his movement

Weaker than Ares, that is all.

Hard to tell since he's a glass cannon.

High-mid tier offensively, street level in defence.

Mid/High mid tier, he's a glass cannon.

Also styles make matches which is why he did so well against Strange, Strange doesn't match up well to Maw because he can stop him casting spells.

We don't really know how we would go about defending against energy attacks like how would he stop Thor's lightning or a bunch of missiles from IM. We didn't see enough of him to get a gauge of his power

So much this. Styles make fights!

With the way he got taken out, I don't even know.

He has a lot of implied power but feat wise he hasn't even shown an answer for someone strong enough to break whatever he makes restraints out of. As far as we know the restraints he makes aren't extra durable.
