how hyped are you for aquaman (2018)
Going by their track record, Not Much really.
But there's still some hope that perhaps it's at least not as bad as Justice League.
At this point I couldn't care less about the DCEU. Nothing against the actors though. I like them a lot.
Even if everything keeps running smoothly, I'm going in with "meh" expectations. The whole stepping away from continuity anouncement after Justice League really tanked most of my interest with these films. Though of the announced DC films, this is the only one I'd actually consider seeing in a theater.
It's barely on my mind, maybe that will change with a trailer, but I doubt it. After Infinity War, I'll likely take a break from live action CBB material.
Will probably still watch it - After the DVD release and I downloaded it not so legally, just as I did for every other superhero film.
I'm hyped for it. The DCEU is going to turn it around now that Snyder is completely out of the picture.
James Wan is an awesome director. Guy made Insidious, conjuring, fast 7, the guy has the chops. hoping there is a horror element to the movie.
cautiously optimistic. I also Love me some Black Manta, hoping he gets respect on the big screen.
side note: the most underrated actor of all time (Dolph Lundgren according to always sunny in Philadelphia) is in this too.
@eichholtz: Imagine what he could do with The Trench, he would make them terrifying.
@tonymartial: oh there is a whole number of some Gnarly looking monsters/villains he could do. generally speaking Good directors direct good movies, studio meddling can be a thing at times, but James Wan has proven he can make action movies and has a unique style and visuals to make an interesting movie.
imagine these Suckers on the big screen. I am all in.
Man of Steel is great and Wonder Woman is good imo so i'm hoping this will be good too but i'm gonna prepare for the worst.
maybe DCEU are just bad at doing team films.
Is this another Aquaman origin story that we have seen so many times in the past?
Aquaman Origin story is the most boring in DCU in my opinion.
Not specially hyped but I'm watching it in cinemas. James Wan is a good director and his current track record with movies is pretty good.
I'm still gonna watch this in the theaters regardless of the hype.
Right off the bat, I'm giving props to James Wan for directing probably one of the the most technically difficult film to make. I definitely want to see how will they translate that superhero underwater world to the big screen. And because of that, it's already a different type of cbm on it's own. It has a genuinely good sales pitch that deserves a theatrical viewing.
I was very hyped when I heard he was going to be in the JL, then after watching him in JL I lost all hope.
At that point I was convinced that Henry is the only actor that is good for his role.
I am excited, but not yet hyped. Once the trailer hits I'll probably be in full hype mode though. Really hope this will be good.

I can think of only one bit of media that ever went into Aquaman's origins and that was the Throne of Atlantis animated movies. What else has there been?

Comics
More curious than hyped
This. I really wanna know how these underwater scenes go.
I'm pretty excited for it. Aquaman was one of the best parts of JL, I like all the lead actors in the movie...I'm a little concerned about the director though.
It has the potential to be really good, oooorrrr yeah it could suck. I'm staying positive on this one though.
DCEU sucks.
BVS sucks.
SS sucks.
JL sucks.
MOS and WW are awesome.
The ratio is still more bad than good so no but it has potential.
