How do you feel about the Teen Titans Trailer
Not sure whos writing this stuff but Grayson would never kill perps then say F Batman ever. And raven is less daughter of trigon and more paranormal activity. Not liking the direction
What the actual f is with DC execs thinking making their heros suddenly want to kill is a good thing??
It is really OK, the only complain I have is about Starfire look (which is not as bad as I expected however) but even that is still hard to get from just couple images from a two minutes trailer.
I also don't get why people complain about being "dark, edgy blabla, maybe they should stick with TT Go kiddie cartoon then. I don't think either this should have be some campy teeny drama combined with some pop comedy and lighter vigilante fights here and there
The show is obviously for some more mature or general audience and while it have some original takes on the characters stories from what we see in the trailer it still keep close enough to the source material (NTT comics where way more nasty things than breaking bones or swearing where happening, some Grayson arcs or even the original cartoons darker tones with Raven and Trigon connection)
@firestarlord73194: Yeah this is supposed to be nightwing later? He seems worse than red hood right now
Not gonna lie when Robin said "**** Batman" my inner edge was like "Yeah!!!! Let's disrespect our guardians together!!!".
starfire looks bad
this and beast boy, i mean hes not bad but i think there is space for improvement.

i think they are obviously depicting dick in his robin to nightwing phase where he was actually pissed at batman, obviously this was written in the post-crisis pre-52 era and the show is written in present day so the use of the f*** word as a teenager doesnt really surprise me.
I know the titans could be dark AT TIMES, but this is waaaaayyy to edgy. It reminds me of that teen titans go episode where the went overboard with edge.
Why are people mad at Robin line? It's possibly Bruce had a falling out with Dick
Exactly, we don't even know the context.
Not a fan of anybody's look other than Robin. Starfire looks especially bad, and not a fan of Raven. Want to see more Beast Boy to see how transformations look.
Complete rubbish. The effects, make up, designs and lightning are hideous. Robin is the only thing they got right in pretty much everything...other than his basic character and personality. This is going to be the DC Tv version of DOJ. Honestly I hope it does suck and tank so that WB stops giving their properties to Berlanti.
Not that impressed but will wait and see how it turns out. Dick Grayson is acting like Jason, Raven seems OK, CGI needs work, and I don't know what's going on with Starfire.
@staticdwanyemcduffie: people just dont want to think for a second for some reason. that being said, star fire's costume needs to improve and beast boy's cgi needs to be better and raven's as well( a little bit). the rest is fine
I don’t understand the point of making Dick Grayson kill people and say f**k. Why would someone think that would make Dick’s character better? It just makes him cheap and disrespects longtime fans of his character. Make a show about some other character, like Jason Todd, if they wanted to have their characters doing that. I don’t like it.
It has the same problem that the early DCEU movies had; trying to be too edgy and dark that it comes across as gratuitous. I know Titans is in a different universe, but the same problems apparently.
I think the issue people have with the darker tone is that it doesn’t apply to every property. You didn’t hear the dark tone backlash from The Dark Knight series, or the Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Punisher shows. It’s because those characters are meant to handle more mature topics, and with the nature of their character (Frank being a psychopath, Jessica’s alcoholism) or their environment (the crime driven Gotham and Hell’s Kitchen), you can’t make a series about those characters without delving into some darker topics.
DC’s problem lately seems to be they have a one size fits all mentality. Marvel recognizes that the tone of Daredevil and Guardians of the Galaxy should not be similar. While it’s public knowledge that DC initially wanted their cinematic universe to reflect Nolan’s darker tone. The problem people have is when you apply such a dark and dreary tone to a character who’ s supposed to be a symbol of Hope. That’s when you start dipping into gratuity.
Characters like Superman and the Titans do tackle darker themes in their stories. You can’t have villains like Trigon without some disturbing imagery taking place, plus I hear he’s the overarching big bad this season. But unlike Batman, these characters are not defined by being dark and edgy. While darker issues occur there is still a balance of levity in those stories.
Hate it all you want but the CW captures that balance perfectly. Arrow is darker show while Flash is more comedic, and Legends is adventurous. The tone is specific to the characters, not the same across the board.
All that being said, we haven’t even seen the first episode yet, so we don’t know what direction they will go, but I am looking forward to it honestly. The Titans are my favorite DC team, so I’m going to give it a shot regardless. Did not mean for this to turn into a essay...
