How do you feel about the rumored coming out of the current Superman (Jon Kent) as Gay?

Displeased. He was just introduced as a kid and now this. Were creators thinking of this when they saw him as a little boy?

Also, it wouldn't be the first time writers have tried to misdirect or play coy, with surprises they have instored for the readers

jon's my favorite DC character at the moment and I'll stop reading if they change him in such a drastic way, all just for the publicity and bullshit pats on the back for being "pRoGrEsSiVe". I've personally identified with the guy for such a long time and it's felt like he's been growing up besides me. Like I'm pretty sure we're the same age, just like we were the same age when he was introduced.

@antebellum: he isn't a real person. We know what he's thinking. We know he hasn't ever even thought about finding a guy attractive. It's obvious he's straight, the argument "we he could still be into dude, we don't know" is like saying "well this gay guy could still be into girls because we haven't really seen him explore his sexuality and he hasn't been openly stated to be gay so he could still be straight" like we know what the character is, we know what the author's intent is and we know what his sexuality is, and acting like it's ambiguous just because he hasn't stated it just seems to be an argument in bad faith.

I'm getting tired of this trend; honestly. Nothing against LGBT but I'm tired of this stuff being shoved down our throats at every turn. It would be nice if comics didn't focus on sexuality for a while and just gave us good stories.

Jon was my favorite DC character man. This is such wack. I used to identify with him a lot but guess that's the end of that. The stans and shippers got what they wanted and good for them I guess.

He has never been explained to be straight or gay in the past. It's nothing that have been established before. He is old now, iirc he's 17 and exploring who he is. Teenagers and kids explore who they are and what they wanna do. This is nothing that take away from the character.

People who get outraged by this, tend to not actually care about the story and just want to be a bigoted a**hole..

If Jon was rumored to get a girlfriend, noone would bat an eye about it. This just shows that people are anti-LGBTQ+ and not actually care about the stories and only about bashing characters for being LGBTQ+..

He's bisexual, but he has never had an actual love interest. He's been around for 6 years and he has yet to be established as either being straight, gay, lesbian. He could have been trans for all we know and nothing would have actually changed.

And many gay and lesbian people have a fling with the opposite sex. It's not uncommon before they realize they are gay/lesbian/bi.
