How do you deal with superhero comics always going back to status quo and never changing?

It is hard to keep reading when nothing ever changes and people keep being resurrected

This actually presents a dilemma do the commercialization of the comic format

On one hand you can keep changing characters til they are basically unrecognizable

On the other hand you can actually let characters arc complete and sunset characters, but if Thor Hulk Spiderman etc are billion dollar properties it would be foolish not to milk the cow

Keep in mind some characters have actually had real character growth overtime
