i think he should do eternals

theres already a movie coming about them and if anyone can make eternals huge its hickman these cosmic gods are a natural fit for him imo

these characters has potential to be likable by everybody

Oh, yeah when he left he said he would like to write Ternals one day and now that there is a movie being made it's time for his return to write it soon or down the road. Just glad Bendis is gone or he wpuld have scooped that one up to make a mess of it, because he imagined it would sell without him trying.

I'm a bit split. I think his style works best with Eternals, and I long for them to have greater relevance. Plus I am always hoping that Kieron Gillen, or Michael Avon Oeming would return to Thor for a proper long term run. That being said, I wouldn't be opposed to Hickman on Thor and I do think he would be a refreshing change for the Thunderer. I'd like to see what sort of high concept ideas he'd bring.

I am way out of the loop on everything X-Men related, even though its probably my favorite comic corner/franchise, team book etc so I don't know whether its "good" or "bad" or needs a writer like Hickman or what sort of limits he'd have there or what roster he could write.

Oh Thank God. My guess is Eternals, seeing as they are next up for the MCU treatment.

@kevd4wg: I'd be a lot more excited if this was about him writing the X-Men (especially given the content Hickman and Marvel tweeted), but all in all it's Hickman and we cannot afford to be too selective. It also opens up possibilities for other characters in the future.

I hoping for Thor he deserves it after Arron and Hickman wrote him beautifully during his Avengers run.

Yeah that guy is an amazing writer, and him at Thor, X-Men or Eternals would be all great.

I'm of the opinion that if Hickman is interested in a project, you hand him the reins and let him run with it. It really depends on his willingness and workload. I'm sure he'll soon give an interview so we'll find out more.

I understand your guys excitement, but at this point i really hope that Jonathan Hickman is not going to write Thor... Marvel Comics did everything (almost) perfectly for me to just ignore its existence, why change that now?

And he is probably going to write Eternals (that i also like but at this point not enough to for me to care) yet still a good fit...

@eto: From what I’ve heard Hickman really wants to do a Legion of Superheroes book for DC. If they bring the group back after Doomsday Clock I’d love to see that.

Hickman on X-Men would be amazing given how he nailed Marvel's other big two teams (F4 and Avengers).

Just 6 issues ? That's not how Hickman's writing works.

To be fair, when Hickman took his hiatus from Marvel in 2015 he mentioned how he wanted to do shorter more 12 issue length runs more like his Shield and Ultimates than the big magnum opuses he did with the F4 and Avengers (and Secret Warriors) so he May just be doing this massive 12 issue story on the xmen completely revamping the franchise and moving on from there.
