If the DCEU is gonna compete with Marvel, more heroes need to get their own movies.
And DC seems to have learned that lesson, as the universe "will focus on solo movies" from now on. Here are some heroes who deserve to be a part of that initiative.
Doctor Fate
Doctor Fate is an interesting character. Since Marvel has Doctor Strange, DC needs their own magician to mirror him. And who better than the golden age hero Doctor Fate?
Dick Grayson
There's already a "Nightwing" film in development, but it really just needs to happen. Dick Grayson is such an interesting character with a complex background who'd actually do well in the dark, gritty DCEU climate.
Zatanna
Like Doctor Fate, Zatanna could provide some magic for the DCEU and mirror Marvel's Doctor Strange.
Wally West
Yes, I know that Barry Allen hasn't even gotten his own movie yet. However, we could have the "Flash" or "Flashpoint" movie focus on Wally instead. Maybe, instead of Barry trying to save his mom, Flashpoint could be the result of an attempt by Wally to save Barry from being trapped in the speed force. Anyway, Wally is too fun and interesting of a character to leave out of the DCEU narrative.
Hawkman and Hawkgirl
It's sad they were so wasted in the Arrowverse, but the DCEU would be the perfect way to redeem one of comics' favorite pairs.
Martian Manhunter
It's just plain stupid that Martian Manhunter was left out of the Justice League movie. However, there's still a possibility one of the most underappreciated superheroes of his time could get his own feature film.
Atom
Ray Palmer has been used a lot on TV, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't show up in the movies. And if not Palmer, how about his protege Ryan Choi, who was referenced in Justice League?
Supergirl
Zack Snyder had plans for Supergirl in Man of Steel 2, but that movie is up in the air. It'd be much easier for a solo Supergirl movie.
So, those are the heroes who should get their own movie ASAP. What do you think? Comment!
