Fishman Island Zoro and Sanji stalemated in an episode long off-screen fight

When Zoro and Sanji reunite with each other after 2 years they get into another argument. This results in them deciding to fight to show off the fruits of their training. This decision to fight with each other is actually shown in the Manga.

They fight for quite awhile and in the anime the result of the fight is shown.

People are in awe at the lvl of strength shown in the fight.

Both Sanji and Zoro come to a standstill with both sweating and complimenting each other’s power.

The fight started on episode 519 and ends like this on episode 521, meaning this fight spanned a whole episode, which is probably why they were sweating so much.

Pretty cool find ngl. Seems like FI-WCI Zoro and Sanji were about equal while Current KOH Zoro and IJ Sanji are relative with a slight edge to Zoro atm.

Thoughts?

Wouldn't be the first time they've sparred to a stalemate anyway, they're supposed to be rivals. It's unlikely they'd go full out against each other.

Zoror and Luffy were also rivals once. Doesn't mean that Current Luffy can't stomp current Zoro, or current Zoro can't stomp current sanji

zoro and sanji are constantly portrayed to be comparable, and we even get the Rayleigh-Scopper dynamic in the roger pirates (tho i'm obv giving zoro the edge)

it's only delusional sword swallowers who think there's a big gap between zoro and sanji and zoro is closer to luffy

zoro and sanji are portrayed as rivals across the entire series its not even a comparison

Loguetown fighting the pirates, Little Garden competition, Alabasta where they fight Mr.1 and Mr.2 who are also seen as rivals (re-read the bar fight), Long Ring Long Land, Enies Lobby where they fight virtually equal combatants (jabra and kaku got almost equal doriki, with kaku having a small edge kinda like zoro), return to sabaody scrapping, fishmen island arguing over who fights more fishmen, wano, do i have to go on?

Canon says Current Sanji is faster, more durable, has better striking AP, and hax while Current Zoro has a lifting strength edge, better slicing AP, and COC. So yeah…close.

In canon Luffy still solos both while in base form. Pretty unambiguous

Zoro and sanji's rivalry is just a gag thing.Zoro has been portrayed as the superior fighter.When things get serious Zoro always fight the 2nd strongest henchman while sanji fights the 3rd strongest.Moreover Zoro time to time fights the main villain of the saga.Arlong,Rob Lucci,Hody jones,Kaido etc.Sanji always fights the underlying with the exception of Doflamingo.But that only happened because Zoro was not present.
