Hello. So I am writer who is writing my first comic book story arc. I am not associated with a publisher and am currently looking for an artist to work alongside me for the comic visuals and effectively be my business partner. Now I know I can't expect the latter to come to be in a day, but step one would be finding someone willing to do the visuals for my comic who is passionate enough about my project to stay on board. My question to you lovely people would be, is advertising my proposal around my university's art department (with the department manager's permission of course) a good idea, even if I get nothing back from it? I guess I just felt like it would be a good place to start, since if anyone is interested I can simply sit down with them for a coffee and go into more detail with them.

Maybe. As long as you don't "spam" them. Maybe the better thing to do would be to post fliers around the department or even the campus.
