Female writers and artists?

Its nearly one in the morning I should really be in bed, but hey :P Does anyone know of any female comic writers or artists?

For artists.... I don't know any... but Mariah Benes (Ed Benes' sister) has been drawing here and there (and pretty good... looks kinda like Ed's work) but I don't think she's done anything for a series yet.

jo chen - she does the runaways covers.

How about Jodi Piccoult? She's more of an author but she once wrote for Wonder Woman.

Gail Simone is one of the best writers out there today. Her dialogue sklls are friggin' phenomenal.

Amanda Conner and Jill Thompson are female artists.

That was the first writer that came to mind when I read the thread title. Haven't read Birds of Prey but I like her Wildstorm stuff a lot.
