These kind of threads don't really work if there's such a vast gap in iconicness and pop culture relevance between the two series, between the HST it works but unless you put relatively obscure OP peeps against the most well known FT ones OP will sweep every round.
Ot: So random, Kinemon has more depth and fleshing out, Igneel is cooler and has better moments I guess but that's really due to his purpose in the story as compared to Kinemon more than anything else.
Having watched both series and read their mangas, FT had better written main and side characters. So Igneel automatically wins this. Kinmeon was annoying both personality and design wise, and essentially filler (like 99% of OP cast), and added nothing to the main plot (that's still not answered after running for +25 years).

Igneel was one of the few badass FT characters I actually liked despite his limited screen time. While I don't dislike Kinemon either, his fake out death in Wano still leaves a bad taste in my mouth, so my vote goes to Igneel
In general, One Piece has far better writing than Fairy Tail in pretty much every aspect and the same applies to characters, but it's closer IMO. However, in terms of R1, I got Igneel winning because of him being more memorable and having a much bigger and fulfilling role in the story than Kinemon. .
Igneel was not only badass but also a caring father figure. Although he wasn't present much in the series, he was still a major driving force for Natsu. Kinemon I felt was ok but at time very annoying.
For round 1, Igneel is above Kinemon. He subverted expectations of what he was supposed to be and plays a more active role in the series even in memory and while Kin isn’t bad he doesn’t have any nuance to his character.
For round 2, Law is just better at every turn really. Way more compelling.
Law suffered from disease that was suppose to kill him, saw his baby sister explode in front him, hid in a pile of dead bodies and joined a mafia at a young age with bad intentions strapped with explosives all over himself ready for war and is somehow a "Gary Sue."
Wendy. Law is the most overrated one piece character. Absolutely terribly written. Just having a run of the mill sad backstory doesn't make someone good character.
Wendy is easily one of the best handled fairy tail character.
Law will always remain a character I can never appreciate in one piece. The author tried really hard to make law relevant in dressrossa by tying in his backstory with Doflamingo's but it became disjointed. It was never carried to his present day state or arc. His character development and revenge mission as the story progressed had no link to the pointlessly long backstory. The law from his origins story and the current law we know are like two different persons that the author tied into one in last moment to make him more relevant in the arc.
Alright while Wendy got more votes than I thought she would this is clearly a stomp in law's favor given the staggering amount of votes he has...the pirate doctor wins
Acnologia. Absolutely love the concept. The way he is used as a unstoppable force of nature that the usually rainbow powered protagonists can do nothing against but to accept him for what he is - an anomaly that should be avoided at all cost. The way he goes down is lame..and he didn't need that backstory. But he still remains as the most unique character in fairy tail.
Ussopp would have been better if he stopped appearing after first 200/300 chapters or so. Now with every breath he draws he keeps sinking lower and lower..just like most of the other strawhats
