I think that's solid casting. He definitely has potential to be a great villain.

Another thing that excites me is that this is going to be the Worlds of DC's first R rated movie. I'm glad they're willing to take a risk and let the director make the movie she wants.

@mrmonster: Actually, Joker will be out before it, so BOP will be the second R-Rated movie in WODC.

It was really a unexpected move , especially making a R-Rated movie from DC franchise , but looks quite interesting indeed .

Positive development but DC make shit films so it’s a tall order to assume his casting will make a difference

Nah that's Ian Mcdiarmid. Ewan's a close second though.

OT-Good casting choice.

Ewan McGregor is talented. Though the R rating seems like an unnecessary gimmick. May even backfire if WB has one of their sudden changes of mind, and edits out content to slip into M or PG.

Nice to see Sionis getting some recognition, usually the only crime bosses that do are Penguin and Two-Face.

Hoping now they use Professor Pyg and the Circus of Strange or the Mad Hatter and the Wonderland Gang for the upcoming Batman movie.

Glad to see Black Mask. Meh on Ewan McGregor. Never really had any feelings toward him either way.

Side-note, World of DC? That's really the replacement for DCEU? That's so... un-catchy lol.

It's not an official name (though neither was DCEU, to be fair). Worlds of DC was what the DC comics section at Comic-Con was called and because so many DC movies were revealed or talked about during that time, several new outlets assumed WoDC was the official name for the DC cinematic universe and rolled with it.

@aros001: So what you're saying is, MCU beat them in the cumulative name department, too? Lol. I'd rather stick with DCEU tbh.

I honestly couldn't say. I don't know when Marvel Studios officially took started using the name "Marvel Cinematic Universe". I'd imagine sometime around or after Avengers.

DCEU is easier to roll off than WoDC, though Personally I don't think it really makes sense. EU means Extended/Expanded Universe, like how the Star Wars EU material is an extension of the original movies' universe. But the DC movies are not an extension of the DC universe. They're a different interpretation of the DC universe, just like how the Marvel movies are a different interpretation of the Marvel universe. It'd only be an EU if the movies had any canon relevance to the comics' universe and they don't. They're an alternate universe.

Closest you could say is that since Man of Steel was not originally intended to be a start of a cinematic universe, the DCEU movies are an extension of that movie, but even then that's a stretch.
