Why it's so hard to make a great DB live action movie?
Dragon Ball live action movie: impossible?
@wolfrazer: I'd love to see a live action trilogy :P Frieza - Cell - Majin Bu
Implausible and it would need a big budget
It would either be hugely successful or bomb hard do it's too much of a risk as it would a huge amount of cash to make it half decent
Dragon Ball live action would need a 200 million dollar budget to be decent, I do not think anyone is investing that sum.

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@wolfrazer: You really don't know why people want live-action? Heard of Avengers?
Some tests: Name the last non-Disney/Pixar animated movie that made an impact like that. I will wait.
Maybe name Naruto's voice actor off the top of your head?
Now tell me who plays Iron Man?
Live action allows mature audiences to take a film seriously for some reason. Its more viable as a commerical film and reaches a larger audience. You also get the draw of superstars actually appearing vs. only the voices from stars.

You think hollywood will dish out 200m after what happened with Dragon Ball Evolution? And i did say decent , Not great. Do not be hysterical.
A true to source live action DBZ movie is impossible because it would cost a billion dollars, meaning it would have to be the most successful movie ever made in order for whatever studio made it to break even, let alone turn a profit.

Technology is ever improving, It might be a possibility in the future.
@crash_: I believe they have the technology to do it now, it'd just be insanely expensive for a live action movie to do the FX required to be true to the source material. The first hour would probably blow the budget of both Avengers movies combined. Whenever people start talking about live action DBZ, I get the impression that they've forgotten how insane that show actually was.

I do believe that but by ever improving i also mean it will be way, way more cost efficient than now, 10 to 20 years from now there will be a live action Dragon Ball movie, I guarantee it.
Tho my opinion is that a CGI movie would be the best option, 200$ million would be enough to make a fantastic movie that would easily make return at the box office.
Look at how awesome Buu looks and this fan made.
@crash_: I agree CGI or regular animation are way better options if for no other reason than reasonable costs.
@theman44: Its not the worst movie I've ever seen but its close.
The manga doesn't translate to cinema. They'd have to revamp it or have a good director and cast not make it seem bad
They could easily do it, they just need a studio with enough money to fund it.
The movement in MOS would be perfect for a dragon ball movie.
