Blatant hypocrisy.

The same person who suggested comic book characters were more ''normal'' being fat algo wrote a piece praising...the same body types she critiques...

Not surprising but worth knowing that the scale is tilted and many artists are being attacked by these type of people for using the standard comic book anatomic proportions that have been used since forever.

Rogue looks pregnant and Cap isn't getting far with that body. These are not suppose to be "realistic" characters. I don't understand this need to relate to the super-heroes we read about. It's fantasy and none of us can relate to shooting beams out our eyes or reading minds.

I'll never understand why realistic means fat.

Why would a super soldier be fat?

Why would anyone who works out more that the best athletes be fat?

Do these people understand the meaning of realistic?

@achillesspawn: I agree with you but I think when they say realistic they mean the average person. The average person isn't in great shape and they want these characters to reflect that but it doesn't make any sense that they would. Superheroes are not average people.

Honestly when it comes to comicbooks, the men are all ripped bodybuilders and the women are all supermodels. This is just part of the fantasy aesthetic, Batman and Catwoman are supposed to be "peak humans" in every way.

@the_hajduk: If you workout everyday you're going to look good, that's just how it works.

People with opinions like these only really know hypocrisy.

Let's be honest.

Exactly. It's like demanding pro athletes to be fat just because.

And btw...this is a TYPE of comic book. If you wanna see fat and ugly, read pekar.
