Poll Does MCU Thor have a chance at becoming equal in strength to his comic counterpart? (83 votes)

Yes 11%
Maybe 14%
No 75%

My theory is that Thor could be in a tough spot in avengers 4. Odin talks to him again, and this time it's about the Odin force. Thor gains control of the Odin force, and becomes very close or equal to his comic counterpart. Do you agree? Or maybe have a different theory?

Nope, no way and Captain Marvel is the one that's going to shine in Avengers 4, so if anything Thor will probably get nerfed or something.

No.

He's gotten buffs in his last two movies, they're not going to buff him again any time soon and probably never (and it would have to be a massive buff, way beyond any MCU character).

No, it's probably Hulk that could have a buff after he reappears, to compensate for his poor performance in Infinity War.

Comic Thor isn't universal like MCU version.

@rbt: Comic Thor shifted the planet Earth out of it's orbit by arm wrestling with Hercules (who is strong enough to support the weight of a planet on his back) and was able to move a Moon after being damaged/hurt by Gorr. MCU Thor is not coming close.

No because the comic Thor will always have the Midgard serpent feat under his belt.

That has a bunch of context IIRC

MCU Thor is much more impressive than Comic Thor already.

He's at least universal with Stormbreaker and that's just scratching the surface. He could be much more. Maybe even Multiversal in the future. Even before his amp in Ragnarok, MCU Thor was a casual city buster. Given that he's much more amped now and has an universal weapon, he should at least be Solar system. buster at full power. His reactions are also MFTL since he fought inside the Bifrost and the Bifrost is MFTL.

Comic Thor is a wuss compared to MCU Thor

He can get close to half his power but never surpass Comic Thor. The Forge Feats gave him a massive buff from when he first started. They will probably introduce something such as him mastering the Thor Force, Warriors Madness, or the God Blast.

He's already stronger, comic Thor's superior antagonists are killed by Sun along with comic Thor's weapon while MCU Thor baths in full forces of stars and his weapon is forge with one. Not only that he has cool lightning cloak that comic Thor doesn't have or doesn't use. Oh and he's a great comedian!

MCU Thor without stormbreaker = star+++ level = solar system level = Comic Thanos >>> 616 Thor = planetary

MCU Thor with stormbreaker > IG's full power = universal >>>>>>>> 616 Thor = planetary

You see people, with quick maths, we understand that MCU Thor is superior. He already surpassed 616 Thor with his cItIE buSTeNg

Thor's likely to lose status in battle forum discussion post A4 compared to 3. Otherwise by straight feats, he'd solo Thanos with a single throw of Stormbreaker, which is absolutely not going to happen. We'll see more limitations on him.

TFW MCU Thor resisted the heat of a neutron Star for 2 minutes while 616 Mangog got third degree burns just by being in close proximity to a Star (later he died), Mjlonir got destroyed just by being inside the sun, current Odin & Thor & Jane cannot handle the heat of a Star. Longstory short, MCU Thor > 616 Thor, y'know.. the P O W E R of A S T A R.

Obviously MCU Thor >>> 616 Thor since MCU Thor casually tanked the full force of a star while on the other hand Thor, Odin, and all the Asgardians knew they would die if they fell into the Sun.

People really enjoy this Jason Aaron Kool-aid.

Ignoring that in other runs and even in Jason Aaron's run, Thor and mjolnir have been in the sun without a single hair getting singed.

Or Mangog that tanked a Star busting weapon focused on him, before Aaron got tipsy and wrote some trash.

Bendis is trying to ruin Superman and making it hard for him to survive being at the earth's core, should we ignore all of superman's other infinitely better feats?

Even young unworthy Thor has been in the sun, like what is going on.

Urgh, maybe they're joking.

I stopped reading Thor around 1990 so I have no idea what God awful Marvel has done with the character in the last 28 years, but to my perception MCU Thor is more powerful, and I am not one of the fan boys that think that the star beam that hit Thor in Infinity War is anywhere near as hot as a nuclear explosion or the interior of a star. The surface temp of a star is 8,000-10,000 degrees. That said, I still think the movie Thor is more powerful than the comic version (I disregard all or most Marvel comics since Marvel got put on the stock market in the '90s so any <cough> "feats" from the modern era mean nothing to me).

Wrecking the leviathan is a superior feat in my view cause we don't see much or any of Surtur's physicals AP or durabillity. We did see a leviathan bodying a building.

No. It actually seems like Thor 5 isn’t even going to be made atp. It definitely is going to have a new director. Hemsworth didn’t like the serious tone, but they’re definitely gonna course correct.

No comics thor eats and pisses MCU thor's high-ends for breakfast.

EMH thor is a contender for Ultimate thor though.
