Does Dan Jurgens suck?

His stories? No. His statements? Yes.

He's fine as both a writer and an artist, I prefer him as an artist to him as a writer though.

This. His Thor run is probably the best Thor run, but you're not going to read him because he has views on power levels you don't like? Might as well not read most comic book writers since most of them don't hold CV's power levels like Starlin, Ewing, and Johns.

Just stick to Loeb and Aaron and comics will be great

Read his stories and form your opinion. Judging him on some random, tongue in cheek response to one of those annoying who would win type questions is utterly ridiculous. If you follow his interviews, you'd realise he is hardly serious about these responses anyway; he will say anything to shut the fans up.

I also remember him saying that Thor would still beat Superman in a fight despite Superman being stronger. Makes you think huh. I find some of his stories good, like his art a bit more than his writing. You shouldn't bother with any comics though, they are dumb and useless. Better to read a real book, like the thesaurus.

He's alright, better than John Byrne at least, but that era of Superman comics are a low point in his character history IMO. His comics are decently well written though on average. He also wrote the most iconic Superman story of all time (even though it sucked). And he created Booster Gold and Cyborg Superman.

I don't care about "If x and y fought who's gonna win?". He is a good writer.

I find it to be one of the most boring event stories ever. Really didn't do the death of Superman justice imo.

Agreed, some modern stories are even better.
