Title.
Does anyone in HST can lift Z Sword?
Goku struggled with 40 tons
Goku lifted the Z-Sword
I'm sure many characters in the HST can lift more than 40 tons
Therefore, yes.
Depends how seriously you take the 40 tons statement. Goku was training, so it’s highly likely he purposefully wasn’t using ki to enhance his strength, as that could be argued as cheating. However the DBS manga seems to back it up, as ssj Vegeta couldn’t lift 1,000 tons. On the other hand the DBS anime counters it when post Buu saga Goku was casually lifting far more than that on King Kai’s planet.
However, even ignoring the 40 ton statement, a lot of HST characters can still be argued to have greater lifting strength than base Goku, so I’ll have to go with yes.
Wasn’t that part a filler? Either way he has feats lifting more than 40 tons even as far as Dragonball.

Sure, mate
@akshsarpanch: There is no point calculating the DBZ feat, it was literally stated to be 40 tons... That being said, that doesn't meant it's his limit, as I already pointed out.
@alextheboss: Was Shin able to lift it? He is supposed to be more powerful than Frieza after all.
@purpledeadragon: I don't think he could, but we have to remember Kais are very spiritual in nature, and not physical fighters. Remember when Zamasu was keeping up with characters far stronger than him in the Black arc of the manga due to his Kai powers? So it's possible Frieza is physically stronger, but fodder compared to the power of a supreme kai. There is also the fact Frieza was stated to be more powerful than base Goku by Beerus, and base Goku could lift the sword.
@alextheboss: Goku was training with 40 tons. There is no reason to believe that is his limit, or that anybody who can lift more than 40 tons can replicate any DBZ strength feat.
Goku’s actual feats of lifting are lifting the kaiju sized Piccolo, pushing apart a mountain when fighting kid Boo, throwing the giant katchin block which is the densest material in the universe. All of these feats were still done fairly casually and we don’t know the true limits of what Goku can lift.
“40 tOnzzz“
dont even start with toyos worse 1000 tons.
even if you go with 40 tons as legit , thats vegeta post whis training as a ssj.
even if vegeta only got 0.5 times stronger than buu saga goku that still results in more than 1000 tons as a ssj.
even if he didnt got stronger at all.
OT: when it comes to pulling out no1.
when it comes to lifting no1.
how can any1 actualy be desperate enough and take toriyamas numbers too seriosly?
did i forget to mention that a weaker krillin was running around with 40 kg shells for days?
i understand if they asked how can you move that fast with the clothes but they actualy started swaeting only by lifting them.
its funny how ppl act like just becouse its a number it cant be wrong.
i mean , piccolos moon buster can be an Outlier but for some reason the 40 tons one cant , the reason for that is obviouse.
@sup3rn0va: you know whats funny?
Lets assume dbz characters can indeed destroy planets etc with simple punchs and kicks , you still probably wouldnt get that becouse toriyama is lazy as hell.
and i genuinely believe he sucks at math and doesnt really know how strong his own characters are.
you cant draw krillin moving a boulder and have roshi react like that as if its something impossblw but later a way stronger krillin barely moving in 20kg shoes when he was training with 40 kg shells for days and maybe weeks iirc.
just like android saga vegeta training in 300g and buu saga vegeta in 150g and even as a ssj.
Thats equaly stupid.
Goku was training with 40 tons. There is no reason to believe that is his limit
No, he was training with 8 tons, and 40 tons in base was too much, but he could do it easily in ssj.
@alextheboss: remind me, isn’t the main problem Goku had with the 40 tons actually performing Bukijutsu with it?
@mike_fowler: It's hard to tell. That could definitely be part of it. Also the weights were strapped on to his wrists and ankles, which would make them harder to lift than normal.
@alextheboss: I ask mainly cause I remember it was maybe the daizenshuu that specified that the training they were doing involved Goku having to use bukijutsu with the weights
