There was no distractions in their IW exchange. Thanos just didn't know how strong Stormbreaker was and tried to meet it head on.

Endgame Thor was just too fat and slow to land anything on Thanos. Endgame Cap had some of Thor's powers, and landed several hits. The very first hit he landed on Thanos was a headshot. If that was IW ThoR with Stormbreaker, that would have been it.

If he just gets better feats people will still say Thanos wins because he beats prime Thor anyway.

If he gets an official power up ( I doubt ) probably.

If his "power up" is him getting fit, it will depend, if there's a statement saying he's stronger while fit then people might think he solos due to IW.

i saw this a few times in numerous different threads, but the idea that thanos would lose to “prime” thor is a headcanon. he canonically didn’t see stormbreaker coming and showed that it isn’t hard to block or deflect in endgame. his lightning also didn’t even hurt thanos. since thanos isn’t in love and thunder the answer to this question depends on how strong gorr is. i expect gorr to be around hela level or slightly above maybe, but thor will likely need help to defeat him which leads me to believe no he will remain below thanos.

No. He will not. Thanos was like 20 times more durable than him and twice as strong

They couldn’t make it clearer that Thanos>>>Thor. People that say IW Thor, is already more powerful than Thanos, just ignore the fact that the latter was caught by surprise. Thanos most likely stomps after L&T.

If he gets a decent amp then yes he should be able to. I don’t see Thor being miles below Thanos as it is, just a bit.

I don't think Thanos was twice as strong, definitely stronger but if twice as strong then he would have killed Thor when pushing SB down into his chest. Thanos had leverage and imagine 1 ton upward force versus 2 ton downward force -> cancels out to NET 1 ton downward force. Their strength was pretty close there and Thanos didn't have a reason not to try as hard as he could.

Can you answer this hypothetical?

Imagine a character whom has light speed combat speed and this applies to their ability to fly. So they can move in any direction at the speed of light like a normal human can move normally. And they can lift a few tons no problem, and their striking is pretty close to that few ton level.

Now imagine another character whom has normal human speed, but with strength to one shot a planet, and the durability to survive the planet breaking. This character can also fly at supersonic speeds max, but still with normal human reactions (like pilot can fly a fighter jet, ya know)

They can both survive in space.

Both characters have full knowledge of the other character in a fight. They start 10 feet away from each other on a random open field on Earth. What happens?

Less than 200 pounds of fat should make literally no difference to someone who should be a 100-5000 tonner.

@lazerbeak: to clarify the light speed combat speed - let's say the light speed character can run as fast as a beam of light. average male running speed is 8mph. The average visual reaction time is 0.25 seconds which is how long the other normal character would need to be able to see something and start to move. In that 0.25 seconds the light speedster would perceive 242.6 days. That is how much time passes for him before the other character realizes the fight has begun.

IW/Endgame onwards Thor "can" already solo Thanos by virtue of being armed with a Thanos killing weapon. Although Thanos takes the majority if it's a fair 1v1.

If by defeat you mean BFR, Thor already can beat Thanos. There is nothing besides bad writing/plot that has prevented Thor from BFR Thanos from his fight in Endgame or Infinity War. If by Defeat you mean 1 on 1 combat with no BFR, then Thor could beat him if he uses all of his powers at his disposal and fights smart.
