Do you think The Batman will be better than Avengers: Endgame?

The Batman will be the first Batman film that will show Batman's skills as a detective, it will invoke a lot of deep thinking, that interests me.

We haven't even seen a single second of footage lol. It's way too early to tell.

I don't expect it to be, and i didn't even like Endgame. Infinity War was a masterpiece, Endgame was it's half-developed brother.

It definitely has a chance to be better.

Meh, it's not really that hard to surpass some mediocre movie.

lol even here, with DC’s recent track record for movie quality known and having 0 knowledge of the movie besides the cast and director (nothing special except Pattinson being a good choice), half the people want to say it will be better than Endgame.

No way the movie will be even close in quality to Endgame btw but Viners sure like to hate on Endgame.

Nah. Endgame’s strength didn’t lie in its plot, it was banking on a decade of character development and storyline and payed it all off in a satisfying way. Even if Batman is better objectively, it won’t elicit feelings like Endgame got from me.

Dude a culmination of 10 years which gave satisfying conclusion to many character arcs vs a movie about a character done to death by a studio which is as new as marvel was in phase 1. What do you expect? I don't think this is gonna be TDK level

Well, quality-wise it's not like Endgame was a masterpiece or anything, so surpassing it is possible. But I will agree that when it comes to spectacle or emotional investment for some people, that's an entirely different matter.

Endgame is not that great but probably will be better than Batman.

Wouldn't be surprised if some other shitty MCU flick releases and that same shitty fanbase will be ranting on the same propaganda of "it's a culmination of 10 years of filmmaking " or "it's grossing so much more than other films"

Dunno. I need to at least see a trailer for The Batman to even make an intelligent assumption, and even with that it’s a wait and see scenario until the film is released

It could be a better movie, certainly won't do better commercially though.

And just because it's a standalone Batman film, doesn't mean it'll be a good film. There's no Nolan this time.

Director? Yes. Cinematography and score on the other hand, don't mean much. Don't get me wrong, beautiful, evocative cinematography and a phenomenal score can elevate a movie, but they don't make or break a film. Spider-Man: Homecoming, which has pretty bland cinematography and a forgettable score, is one of my favourite movies of all time, whereas Man of Steel, which has gorgeous visuals and a great soundtrack, is one of the biggest disappointments I've ever seen. Storytelling, pacing and character is much more important.

As for directors, it's tough to say. I'm a Matt Reeves fan and he's made some pretty amazing movies, but nothing as good as what the Russo's did with Civil War, The Winter Soldier and Infinity War. That said, even though I enjoyed Endgame, I don't think it was amazing (I originally did, but my opinion of the movie lessened as time went on), so I can definitely see The Batman beating Endgame. Maybe a 60/40 chance in favour of The Batman.

Yes. Endgame, while still decent, was a massive let down for me after Infinity War. I have a feeling Pattinson will nail the character, and Reeves has a pretty good track record as a director.

Yep, pretty much. IW would be on my all time list for sure, Endgame was just a decent conclusion/ending to whole 10+ saga but not much past that.

No I really enjoyed endgame as in it is one of my favorite MCU movies. I am more than open to enjoying the Batman but I don't think it will be as high a quality film as endgame.

I love Endgame, matter of fact, it’s one of my personal favorite superhero movies, but that doesn’t mean it’s a high quality film. It’s great because it’s the finale to the 20+ movies that preceded it.

The Batman very well could simply be a better and higher quality movie. Although I will say, this is all speculation. I’ve been on The Batman hype train for a long while now, but the movie still could absolutely flop.

I enjoyed Endgame, but as a film it was a bit lacking as it was mainly a fanservice movie. It's not impossible to surpass it in quality
