Poll Do you think Robert Pattinson is a bad actor? (65 votes)
Just polling for opinions on the new Batman. My answer is no, not at all, Good Time and The Rover have shown me that the guy is no joke.

@detectivesomerset__: I won't judge him as Batman until I see the movie, though I think it'd be unfair to judge him as an actor purely from his performance in the awful Twilight films, he has improved a lot as an actor since, The Rover, Good Time and High Life were all good. The Lighthouse looks sweet and he's going to be in Christopher Nolan's Tenet.
@eri123: That's a weak performance compared to him in Good Time.
@ghostodoofus2: I haven't watched that.
@eri123: Watch it, it's good, that's the movie that convinced me that he's legitimately good now.
@detectivesomerset__: Terrible actor? I’ll assume you’ve only seen him in Twilight then.
@detectivesomerset__: Your first line makes no sense given his other catalogue of films and tells me that indeed you’ve only seen him in Twilight.
@detectivesomerset__: Good Time, The Rover, Lost City of Z, High Life, Childhoof of a Leader
Hes gonna be better than Bale dude, just accept it.
@detectivesomerset__: So...nothing recent then? Yeah he’s a good actor.
Him as Batman is strange to me but I’m not worried.
No. But that doesn't make him a Batman material, why is that so hard to understand? Not every actor fits every role, no matter how good they are. Bale is much more versatile and stronger actor than Affleck, still Affleck was a much better Batman AND Bruce Wayne. There's no ABC ligic in that. It's the magic of cinema.
Nope he is a pretty good actor. People laughs at him because of the Twilight saga (Which Rob didn't like himself)
He could look really good as a younger Bruce Wayne/Batman if he put on a few pounds of muscle.
@detectivesomerset__: How do you know he'll have short screentime in Tenet?
@mrnoital: Watch Good Time to see how his acting improved.
@beyond_dreams: I'm sure he'll get the best trainers to get big, Christian Bale was even smaller in The Machinist which he filmed not too long before Batman Begins.
It's not about acting, again. To me it's no different from casting Stallone (in his prime) for the part. They simply equally don't belong here.
Actually, Nic Cage as Superman comes to mind.
Point was Cage is good actor that wasn't in his place as Superman. (I know his reputation is shaky nowadays, but he is talented).
It's like you completely ignored that part I wrote about Bale...
Pattinson may kill it in terms of acting, he still won't be a Batman material. Just like Gyllenhaal.
@adamtrmm: As of now, obviously, what specific things do you don´t see of Wayne/Batman in Robert?
1. He makes no sense as younger Affleck, assuming it's still DCEU.
2. Assuming it isn't, he still lacks the attributes I associate with the right pick for the part in terms of physique (not just how well he's built, but everything from stature to visage) and overall appeal. As examples, to me it's as dissonant as Hemsworth playing Spiderman, or Garfield playing Superman, and so on.
Welp, I can´t really disagree on that, since its pretty much very a personal opinion.
On a pure visual way, I think he has potential for a younger Batman, with the right haircut (and colour), bulking up, he could be really good.
Sure he is not the tank that Affleck can portray (height/weight), but for this specific portrait (like, not really DCEU) he should work.
At least give him the jaw, it´s as good as Fassbenders´ lol.
He hasn't improved the poor guy actually hates Twilight from the bottom of his heart and we never got to see him actually act there. Look at his interviews he almost got fired for shitting on the movies in interviews
I kinda feel bad for the guy he started off with such a garbage franchise that people don't take him seriously.
Batman is 60% looks 20% brooding 10% charisma
Pattinson with added muscle will be a very good looking Batman brooding isn't difficult and he is very charismatic in others roles ive seen him in
@tobymaguire2: What happened to your first account bruv?
@richubs: Such a garbage franchise that gave him millions and made him popular overnight so that he can act in his passion projects.
Also, he is unprofessional douche if he deliberately did not act in twilight.
Only saw him in Harry Potter, he was fine there. Never really watched Twlight and since then he's been doing indie films that no one but die hard film fanatics would know anything about.
Batman is 60 100% looks 20 0% brooding 10 0% charisma
Pattinson with added muscle will be a very good looking Batman brooding isn't difficult and he is very charismatic in others roles ive seen him in
The best answer.
Pattinson: kind-good actor in shitty films.
Pattinson is a very good actor, aside from twillight bs which he actually does not like either he is a really good actor. Underrated i would say. Will he be a good batman? idk time will tell, but if he puts on some mass to his frame i could see him doing a job
@detectivesomerset__: Saying he isn’t good when you haven’t actually seen him in the films where he’s good doesn’t make any sense but sure.
@detectivesomerset__: I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with you until I see the movie lol
@detectivesomerset__: Quantity isn’t relevant here because you’ve only seen him in three films lol
@detectivesomerset__: Ben Affleck is a much better director than actor, I haven't liked any of his performances.
