Thoughts ?
Do DC and Marvel rely on each other ?

Yes. One of Adam Smith's 3 natural laws of economics is that competition forces better products. Their decades long competition for comic sales has forced both of them to do their best, or at least attempt to.
@supermanthor: rely how?
@supermanthor: rely how?
i mean one respects others direction etc etc
They rely on one another in some ways because they're in the same industry. All companies do, to some extent.
But cooperation is always better than competition. In the grand scheme of things, we only compete because of pride and greed.

that explains a lot
I don't think there's an inherent reliance on each other.
Competition hasn't always provided the best material. Look at the 1990s when Marvel and DC faced increased competition from other publisher (such as Image). Yet the quality of stories for Marvel and Dc didn't increase and the diversity took a nose dive. Every popular title wanted to default to an "iron age" mentality.
On the other end of the scale. Monopoly hasn't caused stagnation. Marvel (and I'm including both MCU and FOX), pretty much monopolized the film super hero genre for years. They didn't need DC's competition to make their films better. Then when DC did become serious, Marvel barely batted an eyelid.
