Pure rumors though nothing big confirmed but.....

If Disney came out and said they were going to remake the Prequels, would you welcome this and if so what things would you want changing if any ?

@djudgment: By that they ment stories before Episodes 1-3. Disney has anonced a Star War movie each year up to 2030. So I don't see why not more prequels.

Why is it the worst rumors because truthfully Episode 2 and 3 were very bad.

@jb681131: Ohh is see, a possible Old Republic touch would be nice to see actually, maybe a bit too far back for them.

I'd love to see it happen tbh, really did not enjoy the prequels at all, the fighting side was great but other than that, it lacked everything else and the portrayal of Anakin Skywalker was worst off, the guy is supposed to be the chosen, and just looked like a complete jobber most of the time.

Remake the Original Trilogy instead.

Those movies are incredibly boring after watching the prequels.

While I can't say that I blame them for wanting to do it, best just leave that Hell alone and move on. I'd rather them not open that closed wound.

They're not remaking the prequels and they won't remake the original trilogy. Will they make more movies that take place before A New Hope? Certainly. Could they make movies that take place during or prior to the prequels? Absolutely. They might even make some films that fit between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Hell, I'd be interested in seeing a movie that takes place between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. They have a lot of room to play around in, but they won't be undoing anything that George has already established. There are too many kids who like the prequels and too many of us fogies who consider the original trilogy as a sacred part of our childhood.

@jonez_: 3 was just lots of fighting where you didn't see very well what was happening. A poor transition to the Dark Side. An a pretty simple and pointless story. I don't see anything good in this movie.

The prequels, despite their flaws, should never be remade. One of the great things about Star Wars is that it's a franchise that's survived so long without reboots or remakes. Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, most of the major fantasy/sci-fi franchises have been rebooted or remade (well, except Doctor Who). But not Star Wars. Remaking the prequels would certainly make them better, but at the same time it would take away something that makes Star Wars so different and unique.

@jardinain2: I never said that all the franchises I listed were rebooted. I said they were either rebooted or remade, and in the case of LotR referring to all the films that came before Jackson's trilogy.

They won't do it. Although I'm still nervous about the fact that Disney is gonna milk Star Wars dry. Star Wars will feel less and less special as these movies go on and on....and on. But that's just my opinion

What's the point of remaking the prequels if they are in the same continuity with other movies? Remaking them will create confusion.

Disney should just make more Star Wars movies. No reboot, remake, or whatsoever.

This whole thing with the prequels is just stupid...like jeez people just because they might be bad to some doesn't mean others don't like them as they are.

They should just be left as they are and people gotta stop acting like the sky is falling just because they were made.

@jao48: Yeah, there were a few animated films in the 70s or 80s. I don't know that much about them, but I know they exist.

Eh, 3 wasn't all that bad. 1 and 2 were awful. The romance scenes in 2 were so painful that I have blocked out most of my memory of it.

So long as they keep Ewan as obi, I don't care.

Rather have the Mando wars personally.

Doubtful. I wanted for the whole different story, no Skywalkers at all, different time, new characters... Mouse House? They dropped the ball and released Epic Fail 7, shortly after they release Forget One. They don't want to risk. Even now you can see plenty of fanatics that say Star Wars quality is undeniably better than say LOTR despite the fact that not a single SW movie can be considered truly well done and how many OT fans actually claim that it was masterpiece. *facepalm*

At this stage SW needs a hard reboot but we won't see it just like vastly different stories set in different times.

Tbh i would love them to do more solo movies, a deeper look at Yoda would be great seeing what he was like all those years ago haha. But totally agree for more solo movies.

I can agree to that actually, i personally would like them re-made solely due to the poor acting we got, and in my opinion the poor way skywalker was shown, however i understand where you coming from and it does make sense.
