mcu forum users lately have been stating the meteorite iron man tanked was equal to 350 kilotons of tnt

frankly, it's an absurd and outlandish claim approaching wank levels near that of schizoprenia

so here's the actual calc

length: 11.82 m radius (11.82 * 2) = 23.64 diameter in length
length: 11.82 m radius (11.82 * 2) = 23.64 diameter in length

height: 23.64 m in height
height: 23.64 m in height

calculating volume for ellipsoid

V = 4/3 πabc

Axis 1: (23.64 m / 2) 11.82 m
Axis 2: (23.64 m / 2) 11.82 m
Axis 3: (23.64 m / 2) 11.82 m

volume = 6917.37 m3

calculating mass from density

** feldspathic crust

m = pV

density: 2200kg/m3
volume: 6917.37m3

mass = 15,218,214 KG

calculating the velocity of the meteorites

No Caption Provided
15.79 m total distance
15.79 m total distance
0.217 seconds travel time
0.217 seconds travel time

S = D/T

distance: 15.79 m
time: 0s 217 ms

speed = 72.76m/s

Tony's meteorite impact time

No Caption Provided
0.983 s travel time
0.983 s travel time

calculating acceleration

a = vf - vi / t (72.76 m/s - 0) / 0s 983ms = 74.01 m/s2

K.E. = 1/2mv2

mass: 15,218,214 KG
velocity: 74.01 m/s2

kinetic energy = 41,678,732,171.27 Joules

1 ton of TNT = 4,184,000,000.00 J

(41,678,732,171.27 / 4,184,000,000.00) 9.96 tons of tnt (0.0099 Kilotons)

Result - Tony survived the equivolent of a 9.95 Ton TNT or 0.0099 Kilotons explosion

No Caption Provided

Debunked and I don't want to ever see 350kt tony ever again

That would probably boost the results a bit but definitely not anywhere near 100KT or anything.

Oh is that so? So meteor that came from the moon in mere seconds without being teleported, something Russo themselves confirmed:

that's very cool man

and was on fire out of its sheer speed moved at low subsonic speed? at 266 KMH? Dont you think it is a bit strange how people that move that fast in cars don't just burst into flames then or fact that that would mean that moon was only 700 meters away from a planet? Or maybe judging speed based on visuals, which ignores existnace of cinematic timing, is just bad since that also makes DCEU Wonder Wonder peak human level speed-wise?Or will we only use visuals to judge speed when it comes to MCU but not in DCEU?

ah here we go - cinematic timing: the be all end all of cope posters

go back to pulling numbers out your ass like 300kt

Oh is that so? So meteor that came from the moon in like 10 seconds without being teleported, something Russo themselves confirmed:

Co-director Joe Russo explains on the Avengers: Infinity War director’s commentary that Thanos “uses two stones there. He uses the Power Stone to destroy the moon. And then he uses the Space Stone to pull it so quickly to the surface of Titan.”

and was on fire out of its sheer speed moved at low subsonic speed? at 266 KMH? Dont you think it is a bit strange how people that move that fast in cars don't just burst into flames then if that speed is enough for it, or fact that that would mean that moon was only 700 meters away from a planet? Or maybe judging speed based on visuals, which ignores existnace of cinematic timing, is just bad since that also makes DCEU Wonder Wonder peak human level speed-wise? Or will we only use visuals to judge the speed when it comes to MCU to put feats down, but not in DCEU, where we can apply cinematic timing?

Dude you just Lined the part where he said he used the space stone which you know he uses to teleport around lol is that somehow supposed to prove you point?

No, if you actually read what they said, you will see part " use it pull them so quickly to the surface" , space stone has TK that Thanos uses, he pulled that TK to pull them to surface at that speed :

Co-director Joe Russo explains on the Avengers: Infinity War director’s commentary that Thanos “uses two stones there. He uses the Power Stone to destroy the moon. And then he uses the Space Stone to pull it so quickly to the surface of Titan.”

If you teleport something, you did not " pull it so quickly to the surface", pull means :

": to exert force upon so as to cause or tend to cause motion toward the force"

That cannot be teleportation. Teleproation is instantly teleporting something without it crossing the disntace in between, not pull towards something at fast speed.

Thanos still had to do the forward motion pulling can be referring to him having to do motion. Add to the fact that a meteor that big at those speeds you claim would demolish absolutely everything not just that little hole we saw. Hell you're 350 KT remark is dumb in itself a 350 KT nuke fireball would envelop everything in a 1000Meter radius yet here the blast was like 5 times the size of the meteor and even Quill survived the schockwave lol. A 350 KT nuke would destroy approximately over 4KM of land not just like 100 meters lol. Inb4 nuke level Quill aswell.

Lmfao MCU Iron Man IS above nuke-level

the amount of downplay here is incredible

Iron Man's suit weighs 90 kg. E = mc^2. E = 90 kg x (300 000 000 m/s)^2 = 8.1e+18 Joules which is over 1 gigaton so Iron Man is large mountain level

Eredin is right. Headcanon matters the most

IIRC it's stated somewhere the meteor is the size of a baseball field

Speed is also off, Thanos pulled those pieces fast enough for them to catch on fire. Them appearing slow is cinematic timing

Meteor feat is still top tier

That meteor was clearly not moving at reentry speeds and anyone saying otherwise is kidding themselves, even the other smaller meteors were outpacing that one, it is not cinematic timing

And portals still eluding the eyes of MCU fans i see

However if we use your M*V to calc the K.E and we go with reentry speed then it would be about 126 KT

This is actually baffling, tbh. Like how can someone straight up ignore what's happening on screen? There's literally a shot of rocks being pulled into portals and yet to still deny it.. just baffling.

I mean that makes perfect sense, if the TK force Thanos used on them is the reason for their speed and it is, then smaller ones will ofc move faster, since the same force acts on them, while they have smaller mass to resist it, they will move faster as result, that however does not change that even big one moved at Reentry speed though, given that it was on fire. That is cinematic timing.

However if we use your M*V to calc the K.E and we go with reentry speed then it would be about 126 KT

Well, that would depend on how fast it moved.

I did a K.E calc at 30,000 KM/H which is reentry speed

What's more baffling is to use blurry scene cuts to say portals existed even though the Russos confirmed they were pulled at high speed.

Here's the full scene from the ground level.

The portal-conspiracy theorists still can't explain why there is not even a single big hole in the sky pooping out half the moon.

And the meteors kept coming too, long after Thanos made his throw.

How could Thanos keep making portals when not using the Space Stone?
