Yield: 300kt

Distance Superman was from the nuke: Around 2m

No Caption Provided

Surface area: 4π2^2= 50m2

Intensity: yield/surface area= 5968 tons of TNT

CA= 1,2335m2 (Source)

Amount of energy that hits the character at that distance: Intensity*crossectional area= 7,36kt.

Superman took 7,36kt of TNT(Low Town level)

*Note: One of Doomsday's abilities is absorbing kinetic energy, so probably the amount of energy Superman took is way less than that, specially considering that 50% of the energy of a nuke is the blast(the other 50% is radiation).

Only the front of Superman's surface area, which faces the expanding energy, would work for these equations.

Calc also assumes Doomsday didn't sponge absorb the blast

Yes, that's the crossectional area.

Calc also assumes Doomsday didn't sponge absorb the blast

Noted.

@power_hunter: Superman's frontal CA is 2.467 m^2? Or front and back CA

My bad, I just realized I forgot to divide it by two.

Yea factoring all context( DD absorbing etc) one-digit kiloton is more realistic estimate of energy he took

After recalc it's already 1 digit. Considering DD's help, and that the blast of a nuke is 50% of its energy(the other is radiation), I'd say Superman took around 4 kilotons.

The DCEU hate is strong man hasn’t been on film since 2017 and still got MCU high tiers in a choke hold 🤣.

Anyways doomsday does not absorb raw energy like that if that was the case he would have absorb that much smaller explosion when Clark came back from re-entry.

2. That was a b83 Nuke the general so plainly stated doomsday was un killable meaning they threw everything they had, Why would he make such a statement if he had a nuke 4x as powerful in the back.

3. The radiation is what did a weakened Clark in. Nothing was crushed or burned on his body it was like he’s was drained or zapped of energy looking husked and depleted.

Nice. I am sure he would have basically almost no sold it if it wasn’t for the radiation though.

Thank you for this, if this thread won't be seen by the majority I will tag every person who said Thor's Star feat is fodder to BvS Nuke to this thread and I'll start with "you know who he is"

Doomsday seems to have way better durability than Clark and he was KO'd by the nuke.

Nice calc, it’s even better when you realize that Superman after getting fully healed forced doomsday to evolve after one bullrush

Doomsday absorbed enough of the blast to release a 2 mile explosion, how many it is that?

Not with the calc, just with the people making fun of Superman.

@power_hunter: not trying to be dramatic, I’m just tired of seeing threads about this phased out and tired character, there’s so many other live action characters to discuss

@the_swaggot: Well if you're not interested don't click on my thread. I'm sure this calc is and will be useful for many people. This feat has been used a lot and this character is still extremely popular in the vine and I've never seen a proper calc for this feat on this forum.

And actually my calc is a high-ball.

1.-The crossectional area is exaggerated.

2.-Doomsday likely absorbed 2kt of the blast approximately.

So Superman probably tanked something like 4kt of TNT.

Doomsday lands at 00:21. And they say he started moving at 00:46. He started moving and mutating after 25 seconds. Looks like a KO to me.

So what did DD take of the nuke as a whole, you think?

I could calc it. Wait.

DD took between 200 and 240kt. I'd need to have DD's exact dimensions to calc it exactly.
