Superman is stronger than a planet and he clearly grows powerful every single day. Shifting tectonic plates should be his bread and butter. MCU fanboys loves lowballing him. Superman is planetary in strength and durability. Statements and feats support it.

@kryptonianking88: Yh, I had a look for the tie in comic panels that helped try to confirm the tectonic plate feat. This is all that I've found.

No Caption Provided

You've got to admit that this is pretty good evidence though right?

The article headline was -

No Caption Provided

Both of the panels I have provided confirm that he does indeed deal with natural disasters on the regular and helped with an earthquake.

Considering the other thing Lex was talking about was Superman physically stopping the runaway train (which was actually shown in the comic), I doubt he would mention Earthquakes in the same breath if all he meant was that he helped casualties.

Besides, there is a difference between a 'statement,' which people often accuse the tectonic plate feat to be, and a news headline.

@kryptonkelloggs: Luthor in the panel is just saying Superman does universally good things: rescuing people, and doesn't interfere in politics. You could use this to support the headline, but I think it's too vague

That's your headcanon. The tectonic plate feat is legitimate and it's canon.

No Caption Provided

Keep in mind, this guy had been obsessed with Superman. He tracked and recorded everything single thing he did and would know all about the particular article he clipped that from. "SUPERMAN SHIFTS TECTONIC PLATE, PREVENTS DEVASTATING EARTHQUAKE". Anything beyond that is headcanon. The only feasible way to stop an earthquake is to prevent the shifting of the tectonic plate by pushing against the force of said plate with lifting strength to prevent it.

But there's another statement from a comic-tie also confirming this.

No Caption Provided

That's an official BvS comic tie-in with Lex Luthor not only confirming he did prevent the earthquake, but that it was easy for him. We've never seen a healthy Superman struggling with weight. This is consistent to the verse because Zeus with the last of his power can create an island with his dying breath, and Superman is stronger than him, It took Zeus and all of his children to get Steppenwolf to retreat and Superman tossed him around like a ragdoll while trolling him. Batman explicitally states in JL he's stronger than a planet. So he's stronger in JL than he was in BvS when he prevented the earthquake. it is what it is. It happened in the verse and it is canon with multiple statements confirming it's validity. It's not an outlier because it's consistent with the power levels of the DCEU.

Yes, he can. It's in the tie in comic, referenced in the film and is if course a tribute to the original feat itself

It's pretty clear that Luthor doesn't mean "easy" in the sense of physical difficulty. He's talking about morality and politics. Natural disasters are clear black and white issues. Interfering in a political conflict is not.

Same people who argue he has tectonic plate level strength also downplay Thor’s nivadelier feats by saying how x character hit by him was star level to not get atomised by each punch

What feat is that?

@rajjarsalt: it didn’t even confirm he shifted plates. Luthor just said he loved the easy jobs which included earthquakes. It’s vague and makes no mention of his strength, for all we know that could mean he just flies around rescuing people during earthquakes

Let's be honest the tectonic plate feat is a massive outlier but so is the ring feat for Thor.

Supermans upper limit of strength is probably 100,000 tonnes, which is consistent with him pulling ships and carrying buildings.

Thors upper limit is probably 50 tonnes based on feats and scailing to other characters. The heaviest thing we have seen Thor lift is a car in age of Ultron, Hulk has lifted a tank and that's about it for quantifiable lifting feats.

@magneto1995:Thor curled the iris, which is significantly more massive than any weight Superman ever lifted. That panel khrushkevka apartment/ship are closer to 5k tons than they are to 100k. The tectonic plate isn't a feat to begin with. It's a statement on par with stronger than a planet, and stopping an earthquake doesn't imply any sort of million+ tier tonner strength in the least.

Thor's ring feat is hard to quantify since it was in space.

Continuing to use Thor as an example -

His star feat was a huge outlier, considering he was hurt and bled by way way less powerful things in the past. It also just didn't make sense considering that the star had none of the properties of a neutron star and the beam was a fraction of its size.

Regardless, the reason that that was an outlier and the tectonic plate feat isn't is because Superman never struggles with weight. It's not like his strength feats imply he is incapable of that feat as there aren't any contradictions as there are with Thor.

I just looked it up. On Wikipedia, it says he's contracted for one more Superman film. So I guess he's not officially done yet.

But I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't want to continue. The way WB operated for Justice League was just embarrassing with the whole mustache fiasco.

I would love to have him back. I would just want a different director working with the character. I feel like that bad press is from Snyder's choices mainly.

Btw how did he do it ? Did he do it casually ? How much time did it take to hi m ? Should we trust social media as they always modify the truth to create scandal and fear ? C'moon

More Feats to LOWBALL👇

👉He is ‛‛Stronger than a Planet’’(By Batman's admission, Superman is ‛‛Stronger than a Planet’’).

Ok what does it mean ? Because this can be also exaggeration and stronger than planet they were reffering to only enhanced cellular processes like it acts like planet. U need a context and direct confirmation. I can also take statements like infinite strenght or limitless power seriously like in some my favourtie movies or shows.

👉He separated 3 Mother boxes (Planet-Busting Tech).

Busting planet of this tech needs lot of time and this tech only destroys surface very slowly. Even if wanna truly wank to that lvl i wanna remind u this device still was overhelming Superman easily and vast majority of that power Cyborg's motherbox core absorbed.

👉He has destroyed the World Engine by flying through it while WEAKENED (World Engine is capable of restructuring an entire Planet, planetary engineering).

The fact this is on planetar scale doesn't proof this is planetary lvl attack. It was only manipulating gravity of the planet and this is not well quantified feat. It was very slowly terraforming planet and 3 ships were needed. This is not like let say Reign in Supergirl Season 3 who was, by ramming breaking world as entire volume. Even if we wanna still omega wank it this process was only slightly making gravity stronger a bit and Superman rammed through miniature fraction so nowhere planetary lvl but at best country lvl

👉He has withstand the Full Force of the Gravity Beam generated by the World Engine. Superman stood under and Overpowered the World Engine Gravity Beam that was transforming Earth to Krypton(Gravity beam that was going to single-handedly terraform Earth).

As i said very slowly and all 3 beams were needed

Statements and Feats count.

that statement is beyond context of this plate. How did he do it ? Did he do it casually ? And also trusting social media is really dumb decision. How analysed it ? How even did he do it by grabbing what ?! Because u know u cannot lift a tree by pulling a branch because branch would itself be destroyed etc.

Even if we wanna use this Phantom Drive suck feat it wasn't at all confirmed to be a black hole but implied it acts like black hole, even if we wanna say this was black hole it wasn't even stated how big radius was, it could be even in nanometers or pikometers. And this power easily was ripping Superman apart ( no idea why it didn't suck Lois and it didn't subatomised her but specially gonna close eye to it )
