Not cool crazy about Dan Slott, but I am glad the OG Fantastic Four is returning. The MARVEL U without them is just wrong. I can’t help feel that this probably wouldn’t be happening tho had Disney not gotten the film rights back from FOX for MARVEL.

Slott is perfect for the Fantastic Four. He, Zdarski (Who I´m glad is continuing Two-in one) and Al Ewing were the best candidates to write Fantastic Four out of all the marvel writers they currently have

Slott's treatment of the F4 during his ASM tenure was good, no complaints. And his Spider-Man/Human Torch mini is pure fun. I doubt he'll do poorly on this project.

Excited for the FF..Good to see Marvel, for now, is done with their temper tantrum about somebody buying something they put up for sale. Not excited about Slott. Maybe he'll be better with this than he is with Spidey?

I'm excited!

The art is guaranteed to be great.

With the writing I'm hoping that Slott brings his A-game. So more like Silver Surfer, She-Hulk, and the Thing mini. Less like the last few years on Amazing Spider-Man.

I think his main problem was that he stayed on Spider-Man for too long so the fatigue set in. Hopefully, he has renewed energy for the Fantastic Four and Iron Man.

So I guess the Marvel announcement wasn’t about Geoff Johns leaving his job as president and chief creative officer at DC Comics to join “the House of Ideas”? Who would have thunk it?

As a long time fan of Marvel’s first family I am very happy to hear they’re returning to their own monthly publication. About time!

Sounds good tbh

His Silver Surfer was decent/good , so this looks promising.

I feel like this could be the equivalent of Waid's Daredevil

Sorry, but I will never regard Dan Slott as a professional writer, but more of a lucky fan-fiction writer. When Dan says "these are just comic books" it really devalues the literary impact comic book stories can convey, because Dan Slott does not have the writing craftsmanship to produce plausible, mature and engaging story lines. IMO, Dan Slott is the Sid Philips of comic books, the worst comic book writer of all time, destroyer of characters and a wordsmith he definitely isn't.

The FANTASTIC FOUR is about family, relationships, super heroics and scientific exploration, ALL of which Dan has no experience in and is not qualified to write. He has no grasp of basic science concepts, of maths or physics and has even admitted to making (comic book science) stuff up on the fly. Fair enough that we all suspend our disbelief when reading super hero comics, but Dan's mindset brings levels of absurdity and again no sense of plausibility to his stories.

So, get ready for nonsensical plot lines, cringey crap dialogue, silly irrelevant pop culture references, toilet humor and out of character developments. Why?.........because he has loved the FF since his childhood and these are stories he has always wanted to tell....blah...blah....blah......BS.

I will read Slott's FF tripe for free at my LCS and put it back on the shelf. The guys there don't mind customers who buy a substantial amount of comics doing that. It's how I kept up with Slott's Un-Amazing Spider-Man bordello. I cared even less about his Doctor Who (out of character) Siver Surfer crap.

Lastly I think C.B Cebulski is now a proven fraud and just as much a part of the gross narcissism and nepotism at Marvel Comics. He's buddies with all the SJW's and I won't be fooled again.

Watch him try to separate Reed and Sue.

Avatar image for crimz

@green_tea: In a recent interview he talked about FF's main aspects and that family is one of them. I doubt he'd separate the only longest running superhero marriage. Marvel would only allow that if they actively wanted to lose fans.

@green_tea: No problem. The unfortunate thing with Spider-man was that many's favorite period is when he was single/dating and struggling juggling that with superheroics. When people start reading Spider-man that is usually what's going on. The FF are lucky that Reed and Sue have been together for over 50 years, so most people were introduced to them already married and with kids and that's how they imagine them. They are a lot harder to break up.
